When I create a backing track with 33 bars and I enter that number as the bar end, the backing track continues for another 2 bars finishing at 35. How to correct that please.
Many thanks

Narayano,

You don't say which version of BIAB you have.

The extra two bars are due to BIAB's automatic ending. If you have a recent version of BIAB for Windows this can be turned off as follows...

1. Right-click on the Chord Sheet.

2. Select "Song Settings".

3. Deactivate the option found under "Endings" called "Generate two bar ending for this song".

Regards,
Noel

There are also two bars of count-in by default, but that, too, can be changed.

The two bar ending setting has been a part of BIAB for a very long time.

One component of the BIAB style file is a two bar ending. Later, PGMusic added an additional two bars (optional) to allow the last note of RealTracks to fade out properly.

My thanks John, especially the clarification regarding the additional 2 bar endings .

Right. The four-bar ending is really a two-bar ending with two more bars for a fade.

Hi Noel

That does stop the extra 2 bars but when I want the track to play 3 times, consecutively there is a 2 bar pause after it ends before it begins again and I would like to flow from bar 33 straight onto bar 1 again. I've tried right clicking on the Chord Sheet and clicking Set Chorus Begin to 34 but to no avail.
Thank you
Narayano

Just worked out what I was doing wrong so it's fine now. Thank you for your patience.

Narayano,

It sounds like you might have accidentally entered some command somewhere that is telling the program to do this.

Have you tried using repeats like in sheet music? That could potentially cause this if not fully understood from a BIAB perspective.

If you want the song to play through three times from bar 1 to bar 33 and then end, the easiest way to do this is to set BIAB's number of choruses to '3' (this is the default). In BIAB terminology, a 'chorus' is used in it's pre-pop-music sense and means "once through the entire song".

Try this...

1. Use CTRL+T to switch to the same view that is on the image below (if you are in full-screen view).

2. Set the starting bar to 1 (#1 on image below).

3. Set the ending bar to 33 (#2).

4. Set the number of choruses to 3 (#3 on image).

5. I also suggest that you go back into Song Settings and activate the 2-bar ending. This will only happen at the end of the third time through the song (i.e. the end of the third chorus).

If you want to download a songfile template that I've set up with the above settings, just click on the link below. You'll need to...

  • enter the chords
  • change to the style you want
  • set tempo
  • set key
