I need a Wipe Out type intro for some of my backing tracks, ie more Tom Toms, can anyone advise me please :-)

I wanted some specific drum parts and I found it easier to do them in a Step Sequencer and finalise using a midi editor. Cakewalk by BandLab is free and has a step sequencer and I think the updated version has Session Drummer. Session Drummer might not be the best drum programme but it is ok. Once you have your sequence as a midi file you can use other drum programmes. It is usually very easy to move to other drums.

It is also very easy to manipulate individual velocities and timing in the Step Sequencer. That way it doesn’t sound too false.

Doing it this way is very quick and you can get what you want (IMHO).

That is my way

You can try SurfRockToms, Real Drums #230.
