I type, say Dm. When I hit "m", the current note sounds and no m appears in the box. When I switch to chord view, it allows me to enter it. This has only happened recently. Did I accidentally change a setting? Could it be because I upgraded to the latest build the other day?
Hi Lesley,

I just tried this and it did the same for me. My plan of attack was...

1. Enter notation view.

2. Locate cursor on appropriate beat.

3. Press CTRL+F2 to open the chord box.

4. Type Dm and then enter.

Only D appeared as the chord.

I'll report this to the development team so that they are aware of it.

Noel
Duplicated here with 'editable mode' and sure it's a glitch. Typing D- does enter a Dm, though, and may serve as some workaround.

Interestingly enough, in staff roll mode this glitch is not present.
It won't let me enter a diminished chord, either. for example C#dim.
But I can't recall whether I was able to do this before.
It's a good question. Nice catch, Lesley55.

I only use the chordsheet view to enter chords, so I can't say what used to be the case. Thanks to Noel for reporting it to the developers.

Lesley,

I've just tried entering Cdim and it worked provided the Editable Notation mode was off. In other words, in notation mode alone without the ability to edit, it was ok.

Noel
After a bit of testing, I've found that both the 'n' and 'm' are shortcuts for entering notes when in editable notation. According to the manual, it is only the 'n' that should do this.

It would seem that 'm' has also been assigned this role by accident.

I will report my discovery to Team PG.
