Hello,
I have been using BIAB since 2009 and have never had too many problems calling in with a question. Lately though it seems that tech support is out to lunch every time I call. I have BIAB 2018.

I just bought a new laptop and I can open BIAB, but I get no sound whether it is with the external hard drive or the installed file. I have a PC for my job which is my company's and it works on there with the hard drive but I need this on my laptop. It opens and plays but I get no sound.

Sounds come out of BIAB 1) from real tracks as audio directly to your sound card speaker on the laptop OR 2) as midi through the internal synth which converts it to audio then to your sound card speaker. Try playing real tracks and also midi. Do either of them produce sound via the speaker?

Hi, The first thing I would check is your Audio Settings.
Options > MIDI Audio Driver Setup

Look for MME in the Audio Settings, also try changing to WAS (Windows Audio Service)
Check if a Synth is setup.
Compare if possible to the settings on your other computer.
This capture might help:

I agree with Videotrack, I suspect that it's the WAS driver causing the issue and that changing to MME should solve the problem.

Trev,

I just noticed that you're only 150 posts away from making 10,000... wow!
