Just as I am a fan of the +++ Groove3.com +++ tutorial video series for audio production and recording I am a fan of +++ Dummies.com +++. Both companies have figured out how to present knowledge in a way that is concise, accurate, fun and easy to understand for a reasonable price.

To add to this, I'm not sure if people here know of him but a music YouTuber I follow named Andrew Huang released a really useful video on learning music theory about half a year ago approximately. I'd suggest checking it out if you're into it!

Just an off hand question what was that computer system he has running and blinking away in the back ground on some portions of the video ?

I'm not sure offhand exactly what his full setup looks like - I believe it's a modular synth setup of some kind.

You could probably post a comment on one of his videos and he could reply and elaborate. He does have a video on a modular synth he made at the link below. Just from looking - I think that is the blinking device you're seeing in the background.
