Is there any way to modify the menu text size? My eyesight is not what it used to be and I'm having trouble with the small text in the menus.

This may or may not assist. The Menu text sizes are generally decided by the Operating System (Windows)
There are features to increase certain font sizes and this one may assist

I cannot guarantee that it won't adversely affect other displays though, but it's worth a try?

If you have Windows Magnifier running, in Views set it to full screen and options set the zoom amount, then use ctrl+alt with mouse wheel to zoom in/out and pan.
