I just want a single strum on beat 1 of a bar, then mute it for beats 2, 4 & 4.

How please?

Imagine the chord is 'C', try entering the chords as C...
(C with three period characters ...)
That will 'hold' the single chord on the first beat.

If you want silence on beats 2,3,4 then try C.. instead (a 'shot')

Depending on the style you are using and depending on if you want the guitar to be the only instrument playing at that instance, you will have to make some changes using the F5 function.

In the example: This will silence everything except the guitar for measure 1, beat 1 and will resume all instruments playing on measure 2.

Adjust as necessary.
