I've been using a 'whistle' as the intro to the old number 'singing the blues'
I now sounds more like a piano, mp3 attached.
Any ideas why? Is the a way to 'reset ' midi sounds?

What are you using for your sounds? If it is the included GM MIDI Coyote you would need to set a program change to 79. 79 is the GM setting for whistle:
1-options
2-MIDI Patch Maps, etc
3-Choose patch from General MIDI Patches
4-Pipe
5-79 Whistle

I had got it as 79.
It was ok about a month ago when I tried it last.
I exported as a mid file and other programs (anvil) open it ok, with a whistle.

Have you tried return to factory settings? That might help.

I have copied the 'melody' track to 'util' track, set that to whistle, & its fine.
Strange that!

Roy, I'm glad you have it working correctly but I must admit that is weird!

It gets stranger..
On my other pc, erased the track completly, re-did the midi, changed instrument to whistle.
Its now fine on the melody track, even when I go back to original pc.

Thanks for your help

It seems like there was something saved into this track that made it sound as the wrong instrument, which is why the Return to Factory settings didn't work. Glad to hear that it's fixed now! If something like this happens again, you could freeze your tracks and send a copy of it to support@pgmusic.com and we could see if we can identify the cause.
