I love hearing and learning about what went into a song. Where it came from, the thought process, the technique...anything. No matter how simple or complex, it fascinates me.

The thing with it though is, they are simply interviews. You are a passive spectator that has to hope the interviewer asks the questions you would like to know the answers to.

The other part, that is actually cool though, is sometimes they ask questions you haven't thought of!

This forum could be where those two worlds meet! Would there be any interest in picking certain songs from the showcase and have those involved with the song explain what when into it? Sure we know the tracks they used, but what about where it came from, or what they changed...and why!

With the talent we have on this forum, I think it's rare to have access to the work, people asking questions you maybe hadn't thought of AND the ability to ask yourself!

Thoughts?

Well...
I'd certainly read posts related to that subject.

A safe Holiday Season to all....
I have a couple of great books on this very subject. A classic story is this:

Julian Lennon calls up Paul McCartney (his surrogate Dad) because John was being mean to him and he was sad.

Paul picked him up and spent some time being a surrogate Dad and then wrote a song called Hey Jules to make Julian feel better.

He later changed the titled to Hey Jude.

John heard it and said.

"That's the best song you have ever written Paul. Is about me?"
Great idea. I love hearing how people came up with songs and the circumstances that inspired them. That's what this forum is all about. Would love to hear more.

That's a great idea. I'm sure there are many interesting stories.
