Mat Kearney's first big hit 'Nothing Left to Lose' throws a surprise 3/4 measure in the middle of one of the lines of the chorus. Took me forever to figure that out.

It's like using common core math to count the beats....and.... with the same rational.... if you like it and you know how you got there even if no one else does, that's all that matters.
