That was my exit. No rock song should be analyzed that deeply. I doubt Tyler and Perry thought about any of this. They just hit a groove that sounded great and went with it.

Wonderful how he can go so deeply in to how this was written, unfortunately it is completely over analysed. As jptjptjpt said, I doubt any of this was even considered when it was written. Probably just a nice riff that came out during a jam.

If anyone knew the formulae for perfect power ballads, then the hits would just keep on coming for anyone who knew the secret.
