Last Sunday, January 23rd, the guys came over to record. It was 5°F outside and the wind was blowing up a storm. So we jammed this song ! Bob is on the acoustic guitar, Steve on the harmonica and I added the bass, sound effects and the wind controller the next day.

Pg Music’s 10 band EQ and limiter were used for this song.

We hope you like it for what it is.

Mario, I really enjoyed this - very cool and fun! And as a New Yorker, I can relate weather-wise...

Mario, there you go wih the film music again! Your pieces always conjure pictures in my head, this time I was seeing a riding interlude from Peckinpah's 'Ride The High Country'!
A nice piece, thanks.

John

Hi Mario,

Nice feel on this one. I particularly like alternating between the straight time with pushes, to the triplets. Makes it interesting. It is about 70 degrees here in Central Texas, so I will just use my imagination about the freezing thing.

Good job!

Thanks all for the very kind words. I’ll pass them onto Bob and Steve.

I’m finding out that the best stuff we do is generally the “quick and dirty” ones. Like the Nike commercial says, “just do it”. If we think about it we generally mess it up! Like I’ve said before I can polish stuff until it’s dull.

Thanks again for the very kind reviews.

I completely agree. You have a definite flair for writing music that's very visual and always a pleasure to listen to.

All the best,

Full agreement +1. What a happy tune! Good balance and acoustic mix.
If I were to make any suggestion, it would be to seat parts of the wind controller a few dBs lower - at least according to my hearing.

A beautiful tune for a sunny, windy, cold day with frost on the window.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
