Has anyone compiled a list of what RealTracks/Library/Holds… folders correspond to what instruments?
and if so where can I get it?
Thanks...

Does my question make sense?

I would like to import a particular "hold" into a Cakewalk Sonar project...
I know where they are... but they're numbered, not labeled...
I need a list of which instruments correspond to which Library/Hold folder #

I could do this myself, but it would take quite a lot of time... 173 Holds_### folders
I'm hoping someone has already done it.

It must exist at PG Music, but to my knowledge, we users do not have access to it.

Wishlist?

Wishlist... good suggestion, but that could take a lot longer than compiling the list myself...
If I have to do it myself, I will, and I'll certainly share it with the forum.

It would be very helpful to me and to others I'm sure.

Thanks Matt...

A workaround might be to hit New in BB and then enter the chord you want held, with the right Rested instruments assigned, then invoke a RealTrackk on some free track and generate just the hold for Export or Drag 'n Drop to your DAW software.

In the RT picker dialog, there is a column on the far right side labeled Holds. I think those number are the folders containing the hold.

For RD, those are defined in the .txt files found in the specific RD folder. The BIAB manual has the details on this.

I apologize for not mentioning the info in the final column of RealTrack selecting. Kudos as always to Rachael. I had incorrectly assumed from your third post that you knew of this, because without that info, I didn't think this job could be done by a user at all.

The good news is that about one-fifth of the RealTracks do not use holds (or PG Music hasn't provided them yet; they keep updating and improving). The bad news is that a few use more than one.

I also would like to see a numbered list of which holds belong to which RTs. 2546 plays 119 holds ... a banjo sound. Trying to find the right folder is too time consuming without a list ... F

So as mentioned above the holds used are listed in the holds column in the real track picker.
Location
X:\bb\RealTracks\Library\Holds
X:\bb\RealTracks\Direct Input\Library\Holds

A list of what guitar is being played for Holds_1 Holds_2 . .
and what guitar is being played for each real track would help.

Holds are 85bpm

To create a holds list
click the holds column to list the holds in order
in the real track pick choose copy list
save the txt
open excel or open office
open the txt file
import using tab delimiter
delete the rows without holds
delete the columns other than holds
now you have a list the you can search

To change holds used open soloist dialog

what you could try is if you have a certain RT loaded, and you know the RT number, follow these steps to find the corresponding holds number (at 5 in red), PS don't OK save anything unless you know what you're doing ! ... :

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
