I was on my way to Memphis in the middle of the night
Trying to make the show and tryin to get you off my mind
you picked a fine time to leave me while I’m out here on the road
I guess you didn’t want to wait until I got back home

We can get back together when I get back from Tennessee
Burn up the past and tear up the jealousies
As miles keep flyin by It’s all I can do to keep from cryin
Trying to make the show and tryin to get you off my mind

Did you ever love me I could never tell
It’s not my job to make you happy you got to find it in yourself

When it comes to playin the games you choose I always seem to lose
I’m a Long way from home with the interstate 40 blues

We pulled out of Nashville after playin in a honky tonk bar
We had a rusty old van and a uhaul full of guitars
The phone call never came Text messages ain’t the same
Girl you make me crazy you’re drivin me insane

The road can be a lonely place when you’re playin in a band
Burnin up the highway to make it to a one night stand
I may never see you again that’s the difference between a lover and a friend
I hate to see you leavin I hate to see it end

Excellent work! Nice clean vocal. Production is top rate. I do hear a popping sound it sounds like it is coming from the guitar. Thanks for sharing!

Very nice tune, Tommy... I would say "radio ready," but it may be a bit long.... not redundant, however. Nicely constructed, well-balanced. Professional, in a word.

I particularly enjoyed the Keith 5-string open-tuned guitars.... Been listening to his stuff all week, because I'm reading his autobiography right now -- recommended, by the way.

One question: I don't think you said what RT lead guitar you used... or did you play it?

PgFan - Thanks you're right my fingers get a little excited when its my turn to take a lead. I guess I will rerecord the part. getting a good guitar sound when going direct is a huge challenge. It is a bit long, but I couldn't find a way to shorten it. It has to have a guitar break. Too good of a groove to pass up. Brallan, Thanks i read that Richards book. Very Enlightening. Tom

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
