Here's one I did with a drummer and a drum machine.
I played a Fender Bass, a Rick 12 String, a Strat and did the vocal.
I recorded this in a basement, using a Teac 3340, reel to reel.
The only mics were Shure SM58s.

Another cassette transferred to digital using PowerTracks12 from a boombox.
It's kind of Country Rock I think.
I do like the sound of my old Fender amp recorded with a mic though.
I hope you enjoy it.
Wayne,

"I Never Thought That I'd Ever Fall This Hard"

There were some girls that I might have wanted before
Fantasy women, walked right through my door
But you were the last one, I ever thought I'd love

I should have seen it coming
But I never went this far
I never thought that I'd ever fall this hard
No, I never thought that I'd ever fall this hard

Baby, this girl that I met makes me feel so good
She won't give me things that I want, though she knows she could
She tells me I've got to be strong and make up my mind

She's just what I've always wanted
She's just what I'm looking for
I never thought that I'd ever fall this hard
No, I never thought that I'd ever fall this hard

Baby I know that you're sad, cause I've hurt you again
But this girl don't want me, so maybe this isn't the end
So tell me you love me, and tell me that you'll be my friend

And I'll never talk about it
No, I'll never mention her name
Cause I never thought that I'd ever fall this hard
No, I never thought that I'd ever fall this hard

Hi Wayne,

For a song that is nearly 30 years old, well, it is wonderful.
To think that you could get that sound from the limited tools at your disposal is just great.

Well done!!

Best regards
George

Thanks George,
In the 1970s and the early 1980s, all we had to use was a small Peavey PA mixer.
We didn't have Condenser Mics with Phantom power. We didn't even know what they were.
I had 4 SM58s and thought I had it made. I recorded everything with them.
2 or 3 mics on the drums and always miked the guitar amp, just like a gig.
I love that I can recognize my Fender Amp, what a bite it had.
But 30-40 years ago, I did play loud. Now I just play in my living room or bedroom.

Only a short time later there was so much available to us for home recording.
Once I got my Mackie Mixer I was on my way.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment. I appreciate it.

Thanks again Tom, this song was real find for me.
I used to play this with a couple of old bands.
I love that I get to hear my old Fender Vibrolux Amp.
Nothing beats the real thing.

Nice Job , You really can play guitar good! I had a old Teac reel , Vesta 4 track ,went to computer with a 1/8 " adapter on a SM 58 and Cool Edit ver 1 ,but I never could make home recordings worth a crap until I discovered Biab! It might have helped to have a band as good as yours !

Thanks Tom,
Honestly, all my bands were failed after a year, if they lasted that long.
That's why I always recorded all the parts my self.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
