Hi all, I wrote the first verse of this song over twenty years ago, and although I've gone back to it again and again, I could never finish it. I guess you have to have lived through a lyric like this before you can write it properly! Have done a few versions of it this year - think this will be the final mix. All comments welcome Thanks. After your wait, you have certainly done this justice. Very clear production and sharp vocals. Tells a great story and nice guitar soloing there.

Very nice job. Mixed very well, everything is clean and crisp.
I smashed the hell out of my car today. When the cops came I told him "Officer, that guy was BOTH texting and drinking a beer." The cop said "Sir, he has every right to do that. I mean, it's HIS living room..."

Great lyrics, super backing tracks and an outstanding vocal.
Outstanding mix as well.
Lover it.
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Hi Mike, Thank you for listening and for your kind comments. I think this is my longest gap between starting and finishing a song. I guess the point is: don't write just to finish, but write when it's right! Still listening to A New Day Is Born - I really love that song! Take care Martin

Actually, it probably makes more sense to thank you all in one post rather than clog up the forum. Never sure which is best - is there a rule of etiquette regarding this?? I like to return the compliment but not sure which they prefer on here? Anyway: Eddie, thank you for listening and your comments. PG, thank you too. I'm pleased you both feel the sound is up to scratch. Taken me a while of trial and error to get there! Steve, thanks for listening and the words of encouragement. Hopefully I can keep it up!! Mario, Wow what can I say but thank you very much. My day is made! Glad you liked it and thank you for taking the time. All the best and thank you one and alll Martin

Hey Martin, I like this song. Great hook "cry out loud". My only small nit is that I would have left "lonely" in instead of taking it out and just saying with "the crowd" in the last refrain - kind of threw me singing along... Enjoyed it very much.

Hi Josie, Nice to hear from you as always! Glad you liked it. I'm a firm believer in the "sing it how it comes" school rather than the "sing it once and copy and paste" school. Makes for a more varied and heartfelt vocal. All the best singers in the world have done it.....so if it's good enough for them lol. Yes they catch you out when singing along, but only til you know the song then you always remember it. Thanks again for taking the time out to listen - always grateful for your comments. Take care Martin

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
