I wrote this a few weeks ago, my voice is still struggling to return after back to back thyroid/spinal surgeries but here it is anyway

http://tinyurl.com/3twqklo
I used the Brent Mason waltz realtracks and recorded vocals and mixed in Reaper

Out of Style

In a pile of old clothes on my closet floor
I found an old jacket I don’t wear anymore
And as I slipped it on I thought with a smile
Aint it funny how some things just kind of go out of style

In the pocket were pictures from an old photo booth
Black and white souvenirs of when we were two
I guess even the lost loves make loving worthwhile
Still, its funny how some things just kind of go out of style

Fashions come and fashions go, like the tides move out and in
Hot one day; the next passé it all turns on a whim

Photos and memories both fade with the years
As life turns the pages from laughter through tears
Hearts get discarded like the toys of a child
Aint it funny how some things just kind of go out of style

Fashions come and fashions go, like the tides move out and in
Hot one day; the next passé it all turns on a whim

So I slipped off that old jacket threw it back on the pile
Aint it funny how some things just kind of go out of style

Hi Zan,

I congratulate you on a terrific song. The music and lyrics are excellent and very engaging. I also congratulate on a fine arrangement; it glows with musicianship. To my ears, the mix is very well balanced.

From what you have written, putting this song together sounds like it has been quite a challenge. I've got to hand it to you, though, you've certainly faced the challenge head-on and created a work that is a real credit to you.

Regards,
Noel

Thanks everyone, it's been a traumatic year. Being a singer/songwriter and having your neck and throat ripped open twice is quite an ordeal. Thank goodness for BIAB which allowed me to work on new arrangements with out a lot of effort while recovering

Hi Zan,

I absolutely love love love this song.

Only once before on here have I heard a song that had the "goosebump effect" on me. This is the second one. Your lyrics touched me right to the bone my friend. My bumps have never been more goosed!!

I've been checking out some of your other tracks on Soundclick and you are a talented songwriter. You have a lovely way with a line.

I wish you all the best and hope your recovery is swift.

Martin

WOW!

It’s all been said but I will add you are one hell of a lyricist! Fantastic writing job!

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

I enjoyed this, I like the melancholy feel to it, which I am a bit partial to anyway. Nice job..

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
