Hallo!
bin neu hier und beschäftige mich seit einigen Wochen mit BiaB.
Ich habe das UltraPlusPAK 2011.5 auf USB-Harddisk gekauft, allerdings alles auf mein internes Laufwerk kopiert.
Nun habe ich auf 2012 upgegraded (incl. BonusPak 20). Ich habe alles in einen Ordner geladen und von dort die Installation auf C upgedated.
Was mache ich nun mit dem USB-Drive? Ich hätte gerne auch diese Installation aktuell. Soll ich den UPdate-Prozes nochmal durchführen und als Ziel das USB-Laufwerk angeben? Und kann ich danach den Ordner mit den heruntergeladen Installationsdateien löschen?

Die Frage kann möglicherweise am besten im (englischsprachigen) Hauptforum beantwortet werden, da dort gelegentlich auch PG staff Mitglieder reinschauen.

Ein Update des USB-Laufwerks ist problemlos möglich, wenn als Ziel der /bb bzw. /realband Ordner auf der HD angegeben wird.
Ich würde es trotzdem nicht machen, weil Du dann keine Originalversion mehr hast, für den Fall, dass was schiefgeht. Du könntest Dir aber ein Backup dieser USB-HD auf eine zweite USB-Disk ziehen oder den Ordner vom PC auf diese zweite HD. Dann sind PC und USB Installation synchron und die Original-USB für den Fall der Fälle unverändert im Schrank.

... wenn das Programm ausschließlich von der HD aus gestartet wird. Wenn aber die 'upgedatete' HD als Installations HD für etwa einen neuen PC verwendet wird, werden dann die 'neuen' Dateien vom Installer berücksichtigt ... oder bleiben die 'downgeloadeten' BB2012 Installationsdateien in diesem Fall erforderlich?

Danke für Eure Antworten.
Ich werde auch nochmal im englischen Forum fragen.
Im Moment wäre es das einfachste, den Ordner mit den Update Dateien auf das USB-Laufwerk zu verschieben.
Dann könnte ich im Fall des Falles vom USB-Laufwerk zunächst die 11.5 und dann die 12 wieder herstellen.
Allerdings hätte ich dann nur eine 11.5, wenn ich die auf dem USB-Laufwerk installierte Version nutzen wollte.
Kapazitätsmässig wäre es kein Problem, noch einige Updates auf der Platte zu sichern, das 160GB Laufwerk ist erst zu etwa einen Drittel voll, das sollte bis 2015 reichen :-)
Leider fehlt mir momentan die Kapazität bzw. ein zweites USB-Laufwerk, auf dem ich die Original-Dateien zum Lieferzeitpunkt sichern könnte. Dann würde ich so verfahren, wie Ralf vorgeschlagen hat.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
