Almost sounded like the Ventures at first, it really changes as it goes along. Great use of Biab's amazing versatility Tim, thanks for sharing!

Tommyc,

Thanks for listening and commenting.

Yeah I was thinking of the Ventures when I came up with that main tune.
The wind is a symbol of life in this case and life definitely has allot of changes.
Tried to reflect that in the music.

Tim,

First part immediately thought of Ghost Riders in the Sky, then the story goes
on. No resemblance in melody at all, but rhythm and style.

The primary theme stays thruout, but your changes did add something special.

And it would be a great soundtrack.

"Clint Eastwood" back again.

Thanks for your work and sharing.

This is a good one. I like songs with a melody and this is a nice one. Couldn't wait to see which instrument sound would come in next. Very well put together with an unusual mix of instruments. Creative much!

Q: How did you get/accomplish the cymbal swish? Sonar?

Man...do I have a lot to learn...sheesh.

Cheers!

Yes, I used Sonar to create that cymbal swish via midi data.

Tim,
The rhythm section really gives a solid foundation for the creativity of the lead instruments. Great Job.

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment on my song.
It means allot.
I really love westerns, both movies and books.
Had much fun doing this song.

Hi Tim!

When this song first started playing, I thought, "Oooooh, nice! Very Baby Elephant Walk styled". Then it took on a character that reminded me of Clint Eastwood and westerns. After that, I stopped thinking and simply tapped my foot and smiled as I listened. I've got to say that this is very creative and very enjoyable.

All the best,
Noel

to me it sounds like a collaboration between the Doors, Sons of the Pioneers, Fleetwood Mac, Bela Fleck and Enya. Who'd have thought THAT would work??

I like the fact that you have fused a bunch of styles and avoided coming up with a song that sounds like a knockoff of a thousand other songs. You also managed to make it interesting (oftentimes such experiments don't come out as well as the composer hoped)

I also like the judicious use of sound effects. They make the song so much more interesting because they add unique moods and memories held by every listener who has ever experienced those sounds at memorable points in their lives. I think it would be very difficult to evoke such a respoinse with music alone.

Anyway, two enthusiastic thumbs up!

Pat,

Thank you very much for listening and commenting. Greatly appreciated.
You pretty much put into words what I was trying to accomplish with this tune.
Thanks again.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
