I would like to transfer my BIAB program and all BIAB file to an external HD and run program from there. I know there are some rules for this somewqhere but I can't find them. There are certain conventions where program must be in same folder as file, etc. Does anyone have that info handy?
Also should I uninstall from C drive ? if so what are the pitfalls to watch for?
Finally, if I change computers will I need to do something so new one can run BIAB from the external drive?

When my old lappy ran out of drive space I just dragged my BIAB folder(which was on drice c:) to the external hard drive and all worked fine.
Also unless you need the space on your hard drive I would not uninstal (I had to because of small hard drive) as it would be nice to have a backup, especially f you are doing live gigs.

Same here, no problems. The programme runs fine. Everything is on the external drive now.

Although you can run the program from the copy made to the external drive, that is possible because you first installed the program to your internal drive. Needed fonts were written to Windows, and there may be a few other things like that. So, I would not uninstall the program from the hard drive; I would just delete the /BB folder. As mentioned, this is only if you need the space.
Don't forget that most of the space taken by the BIAB program is for the RealTracks and, to a much lesser extent, RealDrums. That's why BIAB allows you to place just those on another drive. This is what I have done. It greatly reduces the footprint of the program on my internal drive, but functions perfectly.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
