Just posting a new song that I did as an experiment using the Melodist in BIAB. First time using the Melodist and the song pretty much wrote itself. Only had to make a few minor changes to the melody that came out of the Melodist. Wanted something easy to listen to so I used RealTracks PianoFlo from Disc #70. I haven't written lyrics yet but I think it will be fairly easy. All acoustic piano.

Me too.

Val, that's the piano styling that I love best.

Are your voice exercises helping? It can be a long, hard road back but the rewards will be gratifying to yourself as well as your many new friends who are anxious to hear you sing again. Christine is a wonderful young lady who is both loving and dedicated to helping people with voice disabilities. Follow her advice and YOU WILL SING AGAIN! She has been working out of Muskogee so I haven't seen her lately. Professional ethics prevent her from discussing your progress anyway.

Val,

Nice tune, but I like the ones you compose much better.
BIAB is amazing though. I'll have to give that Melodist a try one of these days it sounds like it'd be fun.

Ditto! This song is begging for lyrics and vocals

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

I would like to hear you sing on this one also, it’s very pretty as is, but after reading Don’s message please don’t rush. Your recovery is your highest priority.

Until then could you add some midi parts? I’m thinking orchestral strings and choir in the background and possible a flute or oboe lead.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Val,

Thanks for sharing this. I am still praying for you to get your voice back, so we can hear some of your lovely singing. But like Mario said, just take your time, and let the healing/recovery take place without doing any further damage. It'll be worth the wait!

Steve

Val,
Nice tune. I've played around with the Melodist feature a bit also. It's really remarkable what BIAB can do. I'm looking forward to see how your experiment evolves.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
