There is only 1 Great country song. All others pale in comparison.

Here's a beautiful rendition of that song.

Dave,

Very nice rendition, and a very nice job on the video. I don't want to hijack this wonderful thread so I'll ask a favor of you to post the video and a brief description as how you did it, equipment etc. on another post.

Thanks,

Danny C.

I have also heard that someone mentioned that "Blue eyes crying in the rain" is the greatest.

O heck.......I gotta put up one more. This would be close to my favorite, mainly because it is a killer song, but both artists did it seperately as a big hit, then some bright radio guys supposedly got together with protools and made this version, taking parts from each individual artists' version to make a quasi duet. It quite remarkable, if only for the production factor, and the fact that this is a rare find.

I've had radio stations that have played this version, tell me that it does not exist. On such occcasion was less than ten minutes after they had aired it. LOL

anyway, enjoy and you might want to record it for posterity.

This Paul Overstreet/Don Schlitz-penned gem was Keith's 2nd straight #1 song and the second single from his 1988 album "Don't Close Your Eyes." Keith's original stayed at #1 in the US for 2 weeks at the end of 1988. Allison Krauss covered the song in 1995. While Krauss' version was on the charts, Mike Cromwell, then the production director at WMIL-FM in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, concocted a duet merging elements of Krauss' version with Whitley's original hit version. The "duet" garnered national attention, and it spread from at least Philadelphia to Albuquerque. It was never officially serviced to radio and has never been available commercially. Krauss' recording won the 1995 CMA award for "Single of the Year". Then in 2004 Keith's version was #12 on the list of CMT's 100 Greatest Love Songs of All Time.

Don, I drove all the way back up to Pittsburgh once, just to set one of those kinda "mechanics" straight about what he'd pulled on my mom.

Let's just say that he got the message and leave it at that.

Oh.

And mom got her money back.

mac, back in hs i worked as a service station attendant and we got a 50-cent commission per quart of oil so, on day one, the boss taught me how to 'short stick' the dipstick.

Jeez, I must be way older, we got a nickle and we pumped the oil into glass containers with big steel twist on spouts. The quart cost 75 cents. I always dipped twice, if it was getting close using my fingers to ensure I got the dipstick most of the way in and then again to show the customer it was topped up. The 50W oil for smokers ( cars that smoked that is), was kept on the radiator in the office so it would flow, that stuff was black and thicker than molasses in January. (The molasess thing applies here from October thru May...

I remember guys with tricked up 50s model cars, carpet on the dashboard, fuzzy dice, the now illegal knob on the steering wheel, duck tail haircuts, buying a bucks worth of gas, a quart of 50W and standing smoking while I put the gas and oil in.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
