Hey all.
Wrote this about 25 years ago just redid with RT.

We used to do this in the late 1960's.
Before the net and social networking came along and killed it.

See if you can guess the melody of the tune on the intro.

Sitting round the organ - Sound Click

Me and mum and Grandma and Grandpa and the rest of the kids.
Sitting round the organ singing songs.

Thats the way it was when we were young, never be the same ever again.

Grandpa played the trumpet as he always did.
I played the comb bye his side.

Grandma played the organ and the rest would sing.
Never be the same ever again.

Chorus
...........................................................................

Sitting round the organ singing songs.
Reminisce of days long since gone.

Sitting round the organ singing song.
Singing songs.
...........................................................................

Grandmas baking pastry on the old wood stove.
Grandpa's listening closely to the ABC.

All the kids were playing as they always did.
Never be the same ever again.

How I cherish the memory and the tunes we'd play.
And now I long for better days.

Grandma played the organ and the rest would sing.
Never be the same ever again.

Chorus
...........................................................................

Sitting round the organ singing songs.
Reminisce of days long since gone.

Sitting round the organ singing song.
Singing songs.

I like it!

interesting concept for a song... it's certainly a topic that appeals to a certain segment of the population. And you executed it VERY well IMO.

Do you perform live? If not, I'm thinking you'd go over real well at restaurants or any other venue where entire families congregate.

Rob,

Your song and music describes the household and family I grew up with.
No trumpet, but piano, organ, jew's harp, harmonica. 6 kids, loving parents
helping to teach us about music and life.

Your vocals, are very relaxed and tell the story great.

Thanks for you hard work and sharing!

Sweet tribute to your family. I always enjoy your voice. Good mix.

I'd guess the song in the intro is an old Gospel hymn called "Bringing In The Sheaves."

Rob,

I really like this one. Great sentiments, and brings back a lot of great memories for a lot of us! As always, your vocals are very relaxed and convincing.

Rob,

I've listened to maybe 50 different songs from different
sources this afternoon.

I obtained a "New used" set of Logitech Z-5300 speakers.
My new sub is a bit on the strong side not your music, but just love the
"Lefts" and "Rights" speakers. You recording is crystal clear over
these speakers.

The instruments all have their spots in the song.
Liked the sound better than my ATH-40M Studio phones.
BTW, your base to me sounded just right for the song.
The trumpet really is a nice touch.
On the third listen right now.

Thanks for you nice music.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
