The Style is same as Run Jessie, but arrangement and
build is a lot different.

Chords from 100 + year old source.

In BIAB rendered 2 versions.

Within BIAB using magic f5 key did a lot of jockeying for soloist
parts of the music. So many mute and return to normals, don't think
I ever will....return to normal.

First with 1 soloist
Second with second soloist

Loaded all of first rendering into 7 tracks of RB.
Then loaded the second soloist track to track 8 of RB.

Within RB afer the loads, using the "dry" tracks, I had to do
a little cut/deletes on some soloist parts. BIAB would have done
it, but was overlooked in the process.

Again meant to be a fun piece of work.
Was interesting to do this one. Learned a lot more.

Nice work. The harmonica is a great and unexpected addition. Very interesting chord progression too. Such intensity it's hard to believe the song is only 2:27 long. Keep 'em coming.

Thanks Frank. It's definately as good as I know how to make it. My favorite part is that Fender Subsonic Telecaster. I never get tired of hearing it. All the songs on that page were created with BIAB and will be a new album when I get enough songs. As someone who's paid studio musicians, and studios, when recording my songs, I can tell you this would have cost a small fortune compared to what we can now do with BIAB. It's pretty amazing...and a lot more fun.

BTW...what instruments do you play? Are you a bluegrasser?

Thanks for listening,
Bob

Bob,

I Have a PSR-3000 Yamaha Arranger keyboard.
Been messing around with keyboard, sound modules since
before midi concept hit town.

Bluegrass, not my main like, primarily Easy music, Country,
Light Jazz, Melancholy music( I'll be damned if I know why).
I am upbeat outward going with thoughts on the happier side of life.
The many versions of Amazing Grace on YouTube just blows me away.

Mootsman and his wife's song really hit a "chord" with me...Pun intended.
http://www.pgmusic.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=368373&an=0&page=0#Post368373

My background is highly technical, about 50 years of it.
My joy is making things. Almost anything, with age setting
in sitting at a PC making music is the most fun.

One last thing, really enjoy lyrics, fitting the music, particularly
when it tells a story.

Enough B.S. for rest of member s for now...

Nice arrangement - I like the way it clips along, and the soloists sound great. I like the clarity of the arrangement, and how things are in their space. It's nice and up front, but not overwhelmingly loud.

Have you considered turning down or dropping the percussion on the first banjo solo? It's not a bad thing to have it going the same throughout, but it might make a nice change in texture. The end is a bit too abrupt. Placing a crash cymbal would give it a bit more finality.

But those are minor nits. Well done!

I love it Frank, kinda reminds of Run C&W! Did you ever listen to them, they played Motown to Blue Grass music. Here is a link to Hold On I'm Coming and Walkin the Dog.

dcuny,

I did that to the accompaniment banjo several places, but
didn't cross my mind on the drums. Also cut or removed several
other instrument spots to highlight the melody or soloist's.

I appreciate your "experienced" comments. Am making every effort
so sound full and nice, but not just loud. Am so green in the compressor
arena. Crash symbol with or after ?

Again thanks for comments.

Tommy, will listen to the links...........right after I finish with my
new upgrades....LOL
Thank you for your comments.

BTW, I have a error with the harp solo, there is banjo in the background
not supposed to be there...After listening um-teen times finally heard it.
Sometimes a person is too close to the work being done.

I was thinking that a crash on the last measure would give some finality.

If you can't find one you like in your current style, you could always cut and paste just the crash sound from a different style.

Someone had mentioned that they make it a habit of generating a bunch of fills, and then cutting out bits and pieces they liked to supplement a given drum track. That should work well in RealBand.

David,

Something really serious came up... the upgrades.
Am downloading today, but will try out the crash
before I finalize the song.

Thanks!

Hey - you've gotta have priorities!

Is a song ever really "finalized?" It seems every time I hear something I've mixed, I can hear something else that could be "fixed" a bit.

David,

And on top of all of this, my net speed is dropped for some reason.
And I have a "hard" appointment, gotta keep it this afternoon/evening.
Did install partials, still have 1/3 of second link and 1.9 gig of the
last link.
Will start in a few minutes, maybe the day cooling off will help me.
I have a repeater dish bout size of dinner play that my Net is received
on. Plus hot roof... I'd slow down also.

Later.

So more "hurry up and wait..."

I feel your pain. It wasn't that long ago I had the modem installed on my PC, and it took days to get a Linux CD downloaded.

At least you're not trying to load it from a cassette!

My first Micro work was building an "Altair 8800" (256 bytes). Bootstrap with toggle switches,
then more loads with 110 baud TTY(Teletype).

BTW, I worked with 8 inch floppy in early Micro days.

Yes, did get good download last night. 2 am got up and checked....success!

After the emails and feeding the forums will finish install and then more
auditioning.

Hi Frank,

I'm a little late to the party. I like it. Quite an inventive arrangement in my opinion

I'm looking forward to hearing more!
