In my yahoo mailbox, left clicking no longer opens a incoming message. However, right click > open does open my incoming messages. Left click works correctly in all other apps. Apparently it's a common problem with FF/Yahoo but their suggestions (clear cookies and history) did not correct the problem. Do you wonderful folks have any suggestions?

TIA

Did you reboot? Pull the mouse out fo the slot and reconnect? It may just be a bad rodent.

Eddie, yes, I have rebooted several times - no joy. It shouldn't matter that I neglected to mention that it's a Logitech Wireless rodent and I replaced batteries just to eliminate that possibility. Thanks though, Amica. It's rated for 3,000 hours continuous operation on 2 AA alkaline batteries with auto shutdown to save batteries. Not like my Gateway wireless mouse that literally ate batteries.

does the left button do what the RIGHT use to do? did you somehow reverse to make it a southpaw mouse (i.e., switch primary and secondary buttons)

fixed in control panel under mouse

No, Larry, it works correctly in all other apps. It seems to be a FF/Yahoo Mail combination problem exclusively. It's well acknowledged in FF Help but none of their suggested fixes helped. I didn't try uninstall/reinstall because that was reported as "no help!"

you've probably already tried this but using Firefox safe mode and disabling stuff to see if it "fixes" issue then re-enabling until; it's broke again to find culprit?

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

just a thought

I'd also be trying a reinstall of the mouse drivers.

Don, if it was users who reported that "un and re" (installing) did not help, I would do it anyway. If it was Mozilla saying that I would have a different opinion.

If your mouse works in other apps there is nothing wrong with your drivers. Drivers don't pick and choose when they will work. This is Mozilla related. Did Mozilla push out one of their silent updates recently? I use Chrome so I don't know if Mozilla still does that with Firefox, only that it was one of the reasons I stopped using Firefox. Seems every time I restarted there was yet another "patch".

Mac and Eddie, it's fixed but hadta switch to IE because, after uninstall/reinstall I had same problem in FF and Chrome. I'm okay now with IE but want to thank you both for diving in to help save my bacon.

Do you have it set to single click? I found the same thing in FF and just double clicked it anyway and then it worked. Don't know if it will work for you, because my net computer is a Mac. Good luck Don!

Don

When you have time, and just out of curiosity, try Firefox safe mode and disabling all the “add-ons", plug-ins and extensions.

You might be surprised how much “stuff” is there. Of course, you the user, allowed 95+% of it. You had to consciously click on and ”allow” at some point. Granted, if you didn’t “allow” then there was probably some other plug-in/add-on you DID want, but it was bundled as one install and it was either an all or none situation or, the install was so double negative language laden you thought it wasn’t being installed when, in fact, it was.

Most users would be better off turning off/not using/not installing half that crap anyway. Just how many toolbars (Ask, Google, Yahoo, blah, blah, do you really need anyway?

http://www.howtogeek.com/101242/you-can-never-have-too-many-toolbars-humorous-image/

and limit using/installing apps that need/require JAVA to max extent possible (admittedly, usually not under your direct conscious install control but...)

OK let the “I’ve been devolving apps and SW since the Altair 8800, and I’ve been using/writing JAVA apps since ‘before it was caffeinated, it is not now, and never has been, a member of the ‘bug your computer party,’ etc.” begin.

Larry, I disabled EVERYTHING but still no joy. Interestingly, my Dynavox Win 7/32 has the exact FF/Yahoo Mail configuration and works flawlessly. Go figure! I like FF but I don't appreciate this aggravation. I'll run IE for now. Thanks for trying.

I have it set for Single Click but that's not a recent change. I had suspected that as a possibility so I'll change it to Double Click and post back after supper (dinner to some folks).

I've lately noticed some weird problems with different puters running windows that were traced to recent Adobe updates...

In all but one case, Restore to a point before the update restored proper operation.

Just thought I'd mention this, but be advised that I haven't seen that corrupt Mouse action yet. One or more customers had a situation where the streaming of Adobe audio applet would not stop, it would just keep repeating over and over when it got to the end of the soundfile. In another case, much of Firefox was somehow rendered weird and almost inoperable, yielding vastly different views from IE such as missing dropdowns and buttons on websites.

Juat thought this bears mentioning. I wouldn't just blanket stop Adobe updating over this, as Adobe development is very likely to solve the problem in future releases once they sort through all the complaints they are likely to be receiving. And quite often is the case that these updates are for security reasons...

Changing to double click did not help. Color me mildly miffed!

This is not going to help you - other than misery loves company. LOL! Just wanted to tell you that I use IE and I'm having similar issues - I thought something was wrong with my mouse. It happens in all my mail accounts with Yahoo being the worst and it's intermittent. Sometimes it won't work at all. Other times it'll work on some messages and not on others. Sometimes if I click around on different folders - inbox etc and then go back it'll work. It's totally weird. Virus and malware checks out clean.

I just got the latest Flash update today so for me at least, likely not the culprit.

I didn't change mine to double click, just double clicked anyway and it worked Don. Hope you can figure it out Don!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
