The last couple of months have been crazy for me! I've been working about 60 hours a week, and my daughter had a baby 3 weeks ago. A beautiful girl, 8lb, 2oz - not bragging, mind you, just reporting facts! I finally had time yesterday to sit down and write another song. All RealTracks/RealDrums, with some brass and strings that I arranged using Garritan Personal Orchestra. All the vocals are me (cheap labor). I hope you enjoy it! You're The Only One For Me Here are the lyrics... You're The Only One For MeWords & Music, Copyright Stephen W. YoungI dream about the future About the way things ought to be And baby, you're the only one for me But I don't need imagination For me to know the way I feel Cause you're the only one for me No one ever moved me The way you do I'm so glad I found Someone like you Every day that I am with you Is another dream come true Cause you're the only one for me I love everything about you I love everything you do Cause baby, you're the only one for me No one ever moved me The way you do I'm so blessed to find Someone like you And if you didn't notice I want everyone to know That you're the only one for me No one ever moved me The way you do I'm so blessed to find Someone like you -- And here is the song memo... Steve,
Really enjoyed the vocals using your first class lyrics. The touch of harmony is just right, also enjoyed the delayed "echo" at the ending.
The guitar solo after the fiddles was also a nice touch.
Your vocals are so easy going, not forced and fit this nice love song to a "Tee".
Thanks for hard work and sharing with us!

I always look forward to hearing your work. Very well done and always polished. You truly are skilled at all levels but the production is just awesome.
I have a grandson on the way in January.
Congratulations!

Hi Steve, I agree with MrEd, I always look forward to hearing your work, too. As I've said a few times, now, you have a wonderful knack for finding sounds that work together even though the names of those sounds suggest otherwise. I'd never thought of combining a "Celtic" guitar, Brent Mason and a "Reggae" B3. Without fail, you always manage to impress me All the best, Noel P.S. I also have no idea how you manage to maintain such a busy life as well as write music!

Another stunner Steve. I really enjoyed this. There's a Jason Mraz groove going on there. A nice song immaculately produced. John PS: Congrats on the new addition to the family!

Mike, Your kind words are so appreciated! And congratulations on your future grandson in January! Is this your first? Grandkids are the best!!! Noel, Thank you very much! I am constantly trying to find different ways to use the instrumentation available to us with BIAB. I like to think outside the box when I am using the box! (BTW, it's after 10pm here, and I just got home from work - have to be back there at 8:30am tomorrow. Pretty tiring at times, but thank God I have a way to earn a good income! I do enjoy my days off, though!) Josie, Always so good to hear from you! Your input is always welcome. Glad you like this one. Got to see my granddaughter Friday. I am definitely blessed! == Steve

Tommy, Okay, I'll never apologize for bragging on my kids and grandkids! I don't know what I would do if you took away my Texas membership card! Thanks for your generous comments, my friend!
John, Thanks so much for the compliment! I have only heard a couple of Jason's songs, but I am pretty impressed with what little I have heard. I am flattered by the comparison. Thanks again for taking the time to listen and comment. I am a big fan of yours!

Steve
Love everything about this. Your productions are always so spot on. The B3 is brilliant. The fiddle and guitar leads are perfect. Your vocals (and harmonies) are so crisp, clean and relaxed - beautiful. A gorgeous mix. Hard to believe that this did not come out of a "high dollar studio".
Bravo.

What a lovely melody you captured in the vocal delivery. It sails so smoothly over the the great BIAB arrangement. I love that fiddle. I might have to purchase that package. Great song. Great recording. Great sentiments.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
