Bravo! what a great groove. Clementi would be molto orgoglioso with your treatment. I like how you artfully snuck into your arrangement, starting at around :30, then really launched it around 1:00 with your synth. Sax solo was real nice also.

WOW! - that is all that needs to be said. You take BIAB to places that I could never begin to imagine...

Hallo Guenter, That sounds great! Thanks for uploading it.
Perhaps you could describe how you did that... which parts did you play/edit yourself and what parts came from Band-in-a-Box.

Thanks for listening and your comments.
@PeterGannon and Danny C.:
I took the piano parts from BIAB Classical MIDI-FakeBook3 and transported them into Reaper with 132 bpm double speed. Then I changed the tempo from 264 to 132 bpm and typed in the chords in RealBand manually, because no RealTrack can be played at such high measure. In the second verse I used my own chords. The RealTracks are mentioned above. I used two versions: one with and the other without shots. I played the synth and some strings. Most work was editing and mixing. I would have liked to play the bass. But BIAB makes you lazy. I couldn't have done it better.

Thanks Guenter,
>>> Then I changed the tempo from 264 to 132 bpm and typed in the chords in RealBand manually, because no RealTrack can be played at such high measure.
By the way, if you designate a RealTracks as "half-time" (in the RealTracks Picker) then you could get a 132 tempo RealTracks playing over a tempo of 264.

Guenter, Every now and then a piece of work like this comes out and is a stark reminder, and I might add a reality check for guys like me who use the program for a one dimensional purpose. Again this is another great example of what can be done with this software.
Thanks for the details, again you did a great job with this production, arrangement and performance.
Later,

Hi Guenter,
This is one of my favorite piano sonatinas and I love what you've done with it. I take my hat off to you. You take BIAB into territory I've never thought about and what you accomplish is exceptionally good.
All the best, Noel.

Thank you for your comments. Very encouraging. Antwort auf:

I didn't know that, but I've tried now. It doesn't work in Realband and for RealDrums it doesn't work in BIAB either. Or have I overlooked anything?
Antwort auf:
RealTracks playing over a tempo of 264.
Yes, but an instrument of tempo 150 sounds horrible at 264.

Guenter,
After you assign the track as "half-time", it's necessary to regenerate that track. Maybe that's the step that's missing. Half- and double-time work for me ok and they sound fine with tempos that are around twice as fast or half as fast as the recommended RT speed.
Regards, Noel

Thanks Noel. It's ok with RealTracks. But in RealDrums I can't choose halftime. Guenter

Correct. With RealTracks, you can use a RealTracks of 150 at a atempo of 300, and if it is designated as "half-time", then it doesn't get stretched, it plays at its tempo of 150, so that it sounds good (unstretched), and a 1 bar phrase (at 150) plays over 2 bars at 300.
But we don't have that feature available for RealDrums. We do have RealDrums that work at fast tempos though.

FANTASTIC!
I love it when people take BiaB in a completely different direction. You did an outstanding job on this.
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
