Searching for 12-8 style for Danny to use I ran across this
great style. Added a solo to it.

Also created a new Melodist for it.

After some number of passes Brent and John came thru for me
once again.

Comments are encouraged.....

*******************

Again used BIAB F5 for mute/activating parts, very happy with that function.

Rendered all tracks using BIAB.

Dragged file names from PC window into RB.
Did some amount of gain changes and cleanup there.
Been doing all fadein/outs on parts using RB.
Only using Audacity to convert to MP3 and also add meta data

PG Dynamics gain 3, default rest.
Sonitus Multiband using Medium Master preset.
Used Stereo expander with full presets.
Also used K-meter for final mix levels along with RB output meter.
Used RB mixer for bit of reduction in level for master output.

Sorta sad music....

I downloaded a screen capture Demo from SnapIt.
Video finalized 11-11-2012.
If you click the 720p will be best for viewing.

BUT real reason was a response that puffed me up......
then the last line......ROFLMAO... sales gimmick I guess.

It's November. That fits.
Nice mix.
Don't bother about the video comment.
Of course it's a sales gimmick.

Here are my thoughts listening through it for the first time:

With headphones on, the first thing I noticed was the stereo separation. Not a bad thing, just a bit of surprise. Perhaps a touch loud.

Once the song started, it was smooth sailing. Nice.

Without peeking, I'd guess the leads were live rather than RealTracks. (Peeking shows me wrong, so kudos for being freaking awesome).

When the guitar came in after the piano, it sounded a bit quiet in comparison.

Piano in the second time - yep, it's louder than comparison. A bit too loud in headphones for me.

Not much change on the drums for the last guitar entrance?

The end sort of tails off rather than finishes.

Other than the volume difference between the leads and the ending, it's all good.

Well done!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Frank - nice! Great feel to this one. I kept waiting for Patsy Cline to start singing along. Any chance of that happening?

Guenther,

I took the "sales" pitch to be what it was.
Thanks for compliments.

David,

I do my mix with Audio Technica ATH-M40fs headphones primarily.
Then follow up with Monitor speakers, to make sure there is a
balance from phones to speakers.

I've been concentrating on making music interesting with the changes
in the instruments. In this process, apparently I've neglected
the overall entire track levels thru the entire song. Good points to make.

The Realtracks are awesome, glad you approved of their realistic sounds.
The Style itself is awesome. Had to do bit of research to help me
understand 12-8 timing. Its not a casual thing, but with PG tools,
helps a great deal.

Have been doing a lot of gain modifications to the Jazz pieces recently for
their changes. Did a lot of gain modifications on this, but did not pick up
on the on the neglected levels.

Will have to work more with drums for the changes. This is a bit
foreign to me. Know about the bar changes for sub-groups, but drum
enhancements

Yes on the endings. Coda's are real enhancers there, used on couple
of songs, then got confused again.

BTW, I just bookmarked this thread, will call it up for next new work.

Appreciate your comments, I take them as a learning, or oh rats, should have
noticed that. You really had to listen closely to pick up on these.

Again thanks to you both!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
