First I have shut down BIAB, then restarted, reloaded song and still glitch.
Also have performed the simple BIAB reset. Stopped restarted, reloaded and still glitch.

F5 does not want to mute my Piano track when selected.

Just went back and tried to mute the piano track anywhere, would not work.
It is MIDI SuperTracks in style: 1886:Piano, Solo-Accompaniment Bluesy12-8John Sw 060

Just replaced the Piano with RT, rendered, played and the Mute did take effect.

What am I doing wrong.

Matt,

Yes it is.

I un-froze it, then played and still does not mute.

Also in the past, never had problem with the freezing, muting, back to normal etc..

But never did this with a Super midi track.

Great idea tho.

Thank you.

Frank,

After unfreezing and adding mute/unmute, did you regenerate?

Regards,
Noel

Noel,

No did not regenerate. Never ran into this before.
Did not want to lose what you hear from the link.

Unless you folks spot something in the song, will simply
create the mute part(sax solo) inside RB.

Thank you!

BTW, really love this song. The sax is killer, and Jon of course.

Hi Frank,

With F5, the regeneration step is important. When setting mutes/unmutes, this is telling BIAB what you 'want' to have happen at various bars. The regeneration process then interprets those instructions and implements the changes.

Noel

I'll be, that guy will just not stop banging those keys even when we tell him to stop! Something not working here? And yes, I tried a couple tricks, including regen, but he just kept on playin..

Damn, the track was frozen. How did I miss that. Once unfrozen all appears to be working well.

Song seems to be muting just fine on other people's setups, so it may be that it is time for you to try a Factory Reset under the Options menu.

Noel,

I have been re-generating individual tracks to get the sounds wanted.
Then add the mute/back to normal's. If they don't sound right then
un-freeze and continue. Up until this time it worked just fine, then hit
this snag. Did put into wishlist, ability to select bars and regen only those.

Dan,

I had tried to unfreeze the use the existing mute command on bar 25 but
it did not work, prior to you folks last 3 postings. Took a lunch/bad news break
for about 90 minutes, shutting down PC.

Restarted everything, frozen. Then un-froze tried and....
This ime it did work just fine. Froze it again with same music and it still
worked.
Have a wild idea than in the audio rebuild(not re-generate) process the glitch
went away.

Mac,

Based on results, the full reset is probably not needed this time.

Thanks to you all....

Now can go on and finish the mix part.

Frank,

One of the things I've learnt with computers is that if something stops working the way it always has done, the best first step in the problem solving process is always to shut down the computer and restart the whole system. This often fixes many things - especially problems relating to audio.

Glad you got it working!

Did quite a few "reset" type things, but that I missed.
Will put it on my operational SOP check sheet. LOL

Appreciate all you folks help.

Again thanks.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
