The ringer announcer yells "GET READY TO RUMBA"

I am so far out of my comfort zone on this one it’s impossible to measure. I have played around with this chord progression for sometime now but this is the first time I tried to put a lead line to it.

I’m playing my wind controller (sax), nylon string guitar (rhythm guitar), jazz box (lead guitar) and bass (guess which part). The rest is Band-in-a-box with a few modifications as follows:

Style – L_Rumba3
1-bass and guitar tracks deleted and replace by me-see above
2-piano-virbatim except for the piano leads. Those were from super midi track 20787-piano,Rhythm BoleroMelodic EV 090. I thought that this made a very nice lead piano part for this song.
3-drums – Realdrums=Rumba^3-Brushes,Ride. Yes Mario can and does use RealDrums when they fit the song perfectly as this did IMHO.
4-strings – verbatim. I copied the track and lowered one tracj by one octave. I then used two different string patches to get the sound I wanted.
5-leads – played by me – see above

This is a one day wonder but I hope you like it for what it is.

Mario -

Love the jazz box. I love music that takes me places.

I'm sitting in a sidewalk cafe on the Malecon, sipping a dark rum and enjoying a Montecristo No. 4, listening to the beautiful music of the mysterious gringo as the waves crash against the seawall.

Bob

Mario:

Very appropriate use of PG styles and tracks, and nice guitar as well. Was "convincing," is my word... I almost could feel the ocean breeze... and taste the rum.

Nice tune Mario. I liked the piano lead and everything else. Only thing I would have added is the Bolero style conga drums.
Good work though.

Mario - it's beautiful. I'm always impressed by how many things you "add".

Not sure if I've ever thought this about a song, but as it played, I just kept thinking...

"Romantic".

Hey Mario!

I haven't had too much time recently and, as a consequence, I nearly missed this one. I'm glad I didn't

You said ...

I would NEVER have picked that from listening. My left and right ear completely agreed with each other that this was wonderful music. Floyd used the word, "romantic". I agree! You sound so smooth on your wind controller these days that it's always a pleasure to listen to you perform with it.

All the best,
Noel

Was that "sax player" on the big horse??
Why all the airspace, and so I had a flashback as I was listening to him:

I recall sitting on a club bar stool, anticipating the next set when I'd hear Mr Stan Getz "do his thing"...then I glanced to my left, and there on the next one was "THE MAN", HIMSELF!! (taking a break from his last set, staring straight ahead..sort of tranced out on booze and who knows what else?)
Mistakely, I thought...what's this guy gonna do when he gets back on stage! ?! Well he got up soon after, and played the most sophisticated, sensual set I had ever heard him do...

Had my eyes squeezed shut whenever "your" saxplayer" made me doze off!!
..Guess I have still got
"Getz Syndrome".

Please get some cats ike Stan Getz, Gerry Mulligan, and Chet Baker soloing on your beautiful Love Tune!!
Hey Brother...just been pulling your leg..kidding you, of course!!!

Hey Stan, ...over here!!!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
