Good idea, Maybe I will list my BIAB-based FAWM songs this way, too. I probably won't have too much time to listen to many songs here this month because of FAWM, though.

Robert,

Everything you write continually amazes me. I tip my hat to you and the way that you chase songwriting with a tenacity that is exceptional.

I'm gradually working my through the above song list At the moment, I'm listening to "Beautiful Day In My Neighborhood". It's got my toes a-tappin'.

All the best,
Noel

I just listened to "I Cry." A perfectly lovely song, moving, convincing, melodic. Is see that you are getting better and better at practicing the "less is more" philosophy, more and more, (or is that less and less... I get so confused). I like the way you delayed bringing in the harmonies until later in the song... I might have jumped the gun, and overdone it, too early... (thinking "more is more.")

One quibble, your chord choice in the second line of the bridge sort of jarred me... but maybe it wasn't the chord itself, but the voicing.

Great work!

That rocks. I can eek out about one every two months. Just can't sit down and do it. I have to wait until a hook appears during a mountain bike ride or when kayaking. As others have said I much admire your tenacity.

Song 6 is a rock instrumental created in Ableton Live! I tried to add just a touch of reverb to the whole mix to give a sloshy sound. Appreciate all comments and suggestions!

Robert,

I am really enjoying your journey...

"Submarine" is COOL. You are showing some real talent for whatever that type of music might be called. And, again, a few words/phrases thrown "into the mix" would make it even cooler...

"12 Bar Wah Wah" - nice - heck of a job on the acoustic turned "electric" - a very "lyrical lead". Can't believe you did not put a "quick blues lyric" on top of that...

"I Cry" - I think this is the best thing you've ever done (at least what I've heard). Really well written song - great structure - nice, nice, lyric. Loved it - and loved the production...

Robert, you did the blues justice on this one.

Great chops also!

Hi Robert

I just listened to your song I Cry and had to say what a great song this is. Very almost seventies rock at the first verse Trex style with a country feel.

Please note this is a personal preference rather than a right and wrong, If this was my song I might try making the build into chorus "until the morning light" smoother perhaps drag it out over the 2 bar gap to build some tension before hitting the chorus.

But its a great song and has commercial potential.

Best Wishes

Darren

Here is song 8 my fawm challenge. This started out because of some notes I was playing on the guitar. I was picking out this just one note at a time and I thought this sounds like a job for super BAND in a Box, I have already shut off my computer so I will list the instruments used when I post my next song! Thanks to everyone for listening to the previous tunes and commenting, thanks!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
