I've always preferred tools that don't get in the way in and of themselves.

Every tool, hardware or software, to my way of thinking, ideally should solve more problems than the design of said tool creates.

Mac,

please run for public office so I can vote for you.

It doesn't take a test to prove this. I've known you were a genius since about the 1st month of being on the forum. I even emailed you about it, but in true Mac fashion, you refused to exalt the label above the evidence. Good for you. The evidence speaks for itself. Labels are constructs of somebody's agenda, and as such, they can be manipulated.

(witness Obama, certain Republican policies and goals, etc)...

Then I think - Mac has lived through all these things - and my apologies to the extent people of my heritage have contributed to that, even though I have not ever personally engaged in such.

I can't imagine anyone going through that, and not being angry about it. At a minimum, I would think having gone through that experience, one would have become very sensitive to comments that remotely invoke the memory of that experience, even if unknowingly and accidentally vocalized or implied by a (most likely, Caucasian) person who is not in tune with that aspect of American or British history.

I suggest that what you think you know about both American and British history is not the truth.

You might start with the fact that the Republican party was formed in order to elect a president who was willing to abolish slavery here. Abraham Lincoln.

Then you might look into which party introduced Civil Rights Bills time and time again -- and which party filibustered every one of them out of the running for over 100 years.

As for Britain, it was formerly known as Great Britain not so long ago, when Winston Churchill led them to stand fast against tyrrany and to ACCEPT nothing less than unconditional surrender from same.

The common denominator is Christianity.

Just sayin'...

guess we're off onto politics & religion now? one point and then I'll slowly back outta the room...today's Republican party is not anything like the Republican party of Lincoln's time. arguably it is not even like the party of Reagan. these are easily demonstrated facts based on the issues supported and opposed then and now. and to be fair, the Democrat party of today is also very different from the Democrat party during Lincoln's life.

So, please point to that mystical point in time when the two major political parties in this country rather suddenly switched ideological sides. With real examples.

Just looking for the truth, not an argument.

I'm not the one who drops political commentary into the middle of posts that are supposed to be about music. This isn't the first time its happened, either. This is the first time I've pointed it out.

I have no truth. just my opinions. and a music software forum is probably not the right venue for this conversation. so, over and out...

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
