Cool tune. Nicely done....

I always have liked the story songs of country music....

recording is top notch.

Well, we just read ALL the comments and are struggling to add anything to what's been said. One of the many things that stands out in your productions is the ability to chose tracks that are complement your vocals -- your voice and the lyrics. For all the years I played in bands I felt the hallmark of a good musician was his ability to do this. The lyrics are engaging and heartfelt. Nostalgic but not maudlin -- a precariously thin line for lesser writers.

Great tune and a pleasure to listen to many times.

Floyd,
It just occurred to me what your style of presenting lyrics to the audience reminds me of. In the old song "ODE TO BILLY JOE" remember how the story was intertwined with the dinner conversation:

Quote:
And papa said to mama, as he passed around the blackeyed peas
"Well, Billy Joe never had a lick of sense; pass the biscuits, please
There's five more acres in the lower forty I've got to plow"
And mama said it was shame about Billy Joe, anyhow
Seems like nothin' ever comes to no good up on Choctaw Ridge
And now Billy Joe MacAllister's jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge

the dinner conversations adds a whole new dimension to the story, actually becoming PART of the story.

YOU have a way of doing that too.. and to me the result is barely short of being magical to the listener.

FWIW, people have speculated for years about the meaning of the song. Here's a link to a lot of conjecture:

very tight, I enjoyed the vocal harmonies, and the way you phrased the melody in the chours

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
