Guenter,

you are without a doubt (in my mind anyway) one of the most innovative people on this forum, and maybe in this sector of the universe.

The stuff you come up with would NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS even occur to me, let alone find its way onto a recording by my hand!

You have so many techniques at your disposal that each of your offerings so far has been completely unlike the others, with the one exception (by design) being to use the synthetic voice as a theme.

I'm so impressed by your work that if you were a stock, I'd sell everything I own and use the money to buy as many shares of you as I could. OK, that's a little weird, so maybe I wouldn't do that after all. But I'd buy your CD.

BTW, which version of FLStudio do you use?

This is far, far removed from what I typically listen to....but I just can't keep from being captivated by it. Being somewhat of a tech geek I get drawn in from the technical perspective but then the rhythms and melodies hold my attention. Your last post resulted in me spending considerable time on the net reading about the software that you use. Simply fascinating. Look forward to the next one.

Hi Guenter,

How incredible is this song!!! Like Pat, there is no way in several lifetimes that I'd ever think of anything like what you come up with. Your ingenuity seems limitless. Every time I listen to your latest song, you surprise me! I'm a fan.

I just love listening to what you do. You're an outstanding musician whichever way I look at your music.

All the best,
Noel

I've been fascinated with FLStudio ever since my son bought it several years ago. I love the songs people make with it, I admire the programming and design creativity that built such a unique product... but I've tried to learn it several times and it
just
doesn't
make
sense
to me

It reminds me of a MiniCooper. Cool car, full of innovative ideas. But on every other car in the world, you'll find a way (button or handle) to open the window somewhere just below the window. Nope, not on the Mini Cooper. NOTHING on a MC works the way it does on every other car.

On every other Windows-based program the top right corner of the window has buttons to minimize, maximize or close the program window. Not in FLStudio. I think it was probably FLSTudio that prompted me to invent the...

FRUSTRATION-O-METER
0____________/_100

In spite of my own inability to learn new things, I'm happy that YOU use that product, because it serves your ideas so well.

This is kind of Thomas Dolby would be doing today. Real cool! I like how you are hybridding sounds of classic rock guitar with Euro-Tech and some neat chord changes to make it all interesting.
I really like it!

Cheers!

Hi Mike, Eric, Josie, Ricke and Joanne,

thanks very much for your nice comments.

@Pat: I totally agree. FL Studio can't be used intuitively at all. My "frustration meter" shows about 80%. But you can do nice things with it and so I sometimes invest a lot of time to find out how to use an effect.
Every software uses the delete key to delete something. FL uses the right mouse button!!
Reaper is something I call intuitive. That's why I love it.

Guenter...

You have ceased to amaze me.

I used to be amazed at each of your submissions. And each for some different (new) reasons. The innovation. The imagination. The sheer JOY that listening to your music brings.

No longer.

I have simply come to EXPECT complete, absolute, utter excellence from you.

You can meld old and new like it's nothing. You can make machines sing. The only amazing thing is that you and your music are not at the top of some chart, somewhere....

Ho-hum...

The music and mix is fantastic -- and the vocal stuff is amazingly life-like (definitely close enough!). Outstanding work. The RT instruments really fit super well.

Hi Floyd, Bob and Kevin,

thank you for your nice comments.

@Floyd: Please don't put me under pressure. For me it's just fun to make music and I'm glad that my efforts are appreciated by some people. But I don't want to be under pressure to succeed.

Nice! I love the clarity of the mix - it sounds great in headphones.

I hope PG Music adds more flute RealTracks in the near future!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
