The strings/pad track are too high.

I'm not at my DAW right now, so I can't tell you exactly where to find this, but I do know from personal experience that you can set pitch limits on MIDI instruments in BIAB. If no one else has chimed in by morning I'll look it up and get back to you.

Also not at BIAB right now, but it's something like Opt., Preferences, MIDI Channels. Find Strings and enter "-12" where it says "0".

What Mr. Finley says is true, and has actually answered your question, although I think we are talking about two slightly different things. He's referring to transposition. I think you can also set a range of the highest and lowest notes that will be played. Do NOT quote me on that; my memory is fabulously unreliable these days.  As I said, I'll check.

It was/is OPT>PREF>CHANNELS then select +/- for octave changes.
Works great!

Yep, -1 in the Octave column.
I was partially thinking of the ability to transpose a Melody or Soloist track, where you do enter -12 (number of semitones) to lower it an octave. Glad you're all set.

If it can be thought of, BIAB folks "probably" have it covered.
Friendly suggestion for folks who may use the Transpose
we talked about up above.
Make sure you set the changed track/s back to normal settings.

Be aware that this is a GLOBAL setting and will apply to all songs. Anything set under the Prefs is globally applied. afaik ;

I recall when that global feature was first noticed, I and some others in beta testing suggested a cautionary message, and it was implemented. Yellow, I think, and it reminded you that a transposition was in effect.

Which is a good idea Matt, but one still needs to go and change Global settings when a song being used does not "fit" the criteria of the GS...yes? And then have to change it back again for perhaps the next song. In the case of transposition, having it as a "song" setting would be more beneficial..jmo  Dennis

Many of us solve this by saving a song as two different names, with the song's key in the name. Or, use two folders, one for each key. Song files are so small, duplicates (well organized) are not a problem. But I would not object to a song-specific setting.

I would not do this in BiaB at all. I would open the song in RealBand and transpose there.
It has to do with the way I think of my workflow. I use BiaB to start now compositions. I keep working in BaiB to get the key, feel, number of bars, ending and intro, etc to where I want them.
Editing of individual tracks such as you mention represent a degree of detail that I think is better handled in RealBand. Easier to isolate tracks, save tracks, and make fine adjustments, sometimes on the level of single measures or single notes.

I do some amount of "composing" in BIAB.
99% of the work is rendered to all tracks on separate wav files.
Do add some plugins, Sonitus Reverb in BIAB.
Do rest of FX and finalizing in Realband.
Then render to final Wav file using Realband
"Merge Audio and VST/DXI to stereo Wav".
Working within BIAB places almost all the sounds
wanted into the piece. Couple of times have
gone back and built extra tracks with original piece,
rendered to wav, then loaded as additional tracks into RB.
The above method does cut out some abilities tho.
