This is a worship song that I wrote about 30 years ago. It's been recorded by some artists, but never by me, so I thought I should record my own version of it. Instrumentation is RealTracks/RealDrums, with the brass, strings, and some percussion, along with the organ solo, played by me using virtual instruments from Logic Pro 9. I hope you enjoy it! I love this Steve, outstanding production. Lyrics are exceptional and your performance is perfect. Glad you are feeling good enough to get back to recording. Thanks for sharing, God bless you!

I like the strings at the beginning as they lend serenity to this excellent song. Your voice is as good as ever.

You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Steve,
From the opening chord, this has Steve Young written all over it. Your production style matches your vocal style SO perfectly.
LOVE the chord progression in this. You do orchestration better than anyone. Period. (Personally), I would like to hear the drums up some. They are tasty - just not quite loud enough. I'm stealing your piano! I've been looking for that - it never occurred to me to check the jazz ballad track... (so, thanks, once more!)
A beautiful song. Beautifully sung and produced.
You make it all look so easy (and we all know... it's not.)

Steve,
"We Are Risen In Christ" is incredible, majestic, awesome. Your ability to arrange and to orchestrate is exceptional. As Floyd has already said, you're skills are unparalleled within this forum. When your orchestration ability meets a composition that's as emotionally powerful as this one you've written, it's pure sunshine in the form of soundwaves. I loved every aspect of it.
To my ears, this song was stunningly beautiful.
Best regards, Noel

Hi Steve,
what a beautiful song. I especially like your vocals and keyboard work. Not being a native speaker I would appreciate to see the lyrics.

Important things first: The point of this song has been the sole source of comfort regarding the death of my dear wife. If I thought she was just dead, I couldn't bear it. But I don't see the bible as being merely a book of man's opinions, I see it in the way that it clearly represents itself: as the Word of God. And as the Word of God, it has authority and believability.
If the Creator of all things says that physical death is not the end, I can accept it with utter confidence. Based on the testimony of scripture, my wife is in Christ, seated in heavenly places in Him. Wow! That's something worth singing about!
Having said all that, the music you write is some of the most complex in this forum. You show what can really be accomplished with this software! Your combination of real tracks with MIDI, personal performance and sequenced instruments is nothing short of awe-inspiring! And the genre you work in is (IMO) one of the most difficult to execute well because of the orchestration and inclusion of so many instruments that have to work well together.
But, you make it all work! I really appreciate not only your performing and recording skills, but also your use of music as a ministry. Thanks for all that

What did you wait 30 years for? Great Job!
You said others have recorded it. I am curious to know who? Care to name drop?

Normally, I like to take the time to thank each post individually for your comments. But I have been swamped the past few days, and still have a lot going on.
So I just want to say thank you to all of your for your very kind words! I truly appreciate all of you for taking the time to listen and comment on this song. Glad you enjoyed it!

Steve,
this song is one that stays in my memory all the time... while doing random things like washing the car, driving to work or mowing the lawn I find that your song is usually what's playing in my mind
In another week or two I may curse you for laying an ear-worm on me; but for now I'm really enjoying it.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
