Hi, friends!

I did this to the memory
of my dearest late wife
Benita, whom I had the
privilege to be married to for
42 years and who died of cancer

http://soundcloud.com/dani-lindroos/my-dearest-harmony

With some added harmony vocals:

http://app.box.com/s/30neu464t54rqqh4jkxb

Recorded thru zoom H4n to mixcraft 6
on my laptop.

Style: Floridas 16 th bar Gospel

Lyrics:

MY DEAREST

You were my dearest for so long, now
I´m alone and I don´t know how
I am going to survive, when you´re not around

I grew accustomed to be close to you
for I loved you more than you ever knew
loosing you got me ever oh ever so down

Blues, I´ve got the blues
Don´t know how to shake it loose

I knew you darling since that magic day
we met and fell in love I´m still on that way
oh, If only God had let us, let us choose

We would have traveled on together
and would have both gone on forever
but your illness took your life, we were ment to loose

So I´m alone, at least I thought so
but that´s not really true, you know, though,
you´re not around you´re still here with me

You´re with me and will forever be
in my heart and in my memory
I will cherish all the time that you shared with me ....

I don't know about you, but I'm a big fan of amazing feats of rhyming in musical lyrics. My all time favorites are the problems of rhyming something with the words "tragedy" and "handsome."

Here's how it's done in Put on a Happy Face:

Take off the gloomy mask of tragedy, it's not your style
You'll look so good that you'll be

.........................glad ya' de-

cided to smile!

And here's how it's done in Someone to Watch Over Me

Although he may not be the man some girls think of as..........

........................handsome

to my heart he carries the key

How 'bout that? I consider Dani's rhyme, below, to be right up there.

Damn, that's good.

In its entirety, My Dearest is a masterpiece.

Hi, Noel !

You know, I surprised myself
with the lyrics just flowing

Hi, Dean, my good ol´partner !:))

You are just all too kind, my friend !
Having loved a person for over 50 years
and going thru the decline in your
dearest health is an experience
that will leave a mark on your heart
and soul. Maybe it was there all the time
and just wanted to come out, I don´t
know ?

You know, my friend , that I do
appreciate your more than kind
words.

Cheers

Dani,

A very sweet song. I like the backing tracks. A good acoustic piano track would be a nice addition to this one (IMO). The drums were quite nice! Your vocal was solid. (harmony?)

Hi, Floyd !

Thank you for your most kind comments !:))
In fact I pondered for a long time if I should
sing some additional vocal parts but ended up
without them.......but, it may be that I will
add some yet....I really do not know, I think
I would have to try it out. I do have an idea about
them, though !:)) I will check it out, yes !!

Cheers

Hi Dani, what a beautiful song.

I really liked the melody, soft and sensitive. Lovely lyrics blended together with the music for touching tribute.

Nice work, and thanks for sharing

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
