Hi,dear friends !:))

As many of you know I am a barbershopper (lol) !
One day at rehearsal she (Rebecca) just appeared
from nowhere and electrified the whole venue !:) (lol)
Now she sings barbershop tenor in my quartet !:))
Yesterday my son played a small part (all that was left)
from a refrain I had recorded some 30 years back. Nothing
was left of the actual song or tune. I remember I initially
liked the refrain but could not get back the melody so I started
to work a song around that old refrain. You will be the
judge of how it will fare. Here is the song about sweet Rebecca !:))

http://app.box.com/s/koq1q97g3xovdz1qsham

http://soundcloud.com/dani-lindroos/rebecca

Style: CONSHPS Country Shuffle (139) RT
Recorded thru zoom H4n to Mixcraft 6

Here are the lyrics:

REBECCA (Music and words by Dani)

Who´s that Lady?
That lovely Lady
who just stepped into our class of Bshop singing guys and gals

what if I, maybe?
If I just maybe
dare to ask her if she´d join my good ol´quartet singing pals

Ref

Oh Becca, Becca, Becca dear, if you please!
sing each piece with that ease
you´re known for
and please, don´t forget how to tease
us with scones and good cheese
that make us wish for an encore

She speaks Italian
but she´s american
and she says that there is Indian blood all running thru her veins

She´s no rapscallion
no female stallion
but all the guys will fall for her as queenly she them reigns

Ref

Oh Becca, Becca, Becca dear, if you please!
sing each piece with that ease
you´re known for
and please, don´t forget how to tease
us with scones and good cheese
that make us wish for an encore

Bridge

We wish you´d be here to stay
and never, never, ever
go away

But you shan´t worry
and don´t feel sorry
for the day will come when we will have to part, as you must leave

but there´s no hurry
no need for blurry
eyes as there´ll be time enough still for comrades old to grieve

Ref

Oh Becca, Becca, Becca dear, if you please!
sing each piece with that ease
you´re known for
and please, don´t forget how to tease
us with scones and good cheese
that make us wish for an encore

Hey Dani

Another great one. Nice country feel. Some interesting chord choices.

Tease us with Scones and Cheese, ha ha, what a great line

Good one

Well done, my friend.

Hi, Ian ! (lol)!

Thank you buddy for your nice comment !

She calls us everything:
We (me and the other old guys) have so far been called
at least scoundrels, rapscallions, scalawags
miscreants and a lot more...... (lol)
Maybe she is right ? maybe we really are all those
things ??? (chuckle) !! But she ain´t no scalawag herself
I can assure you !

Cheers
Dani

dani,

Nice job on this! A great, tight harmony from start to finish.
Cool instrumentation. Good mix - although the drums could come up some - this is the type of song that works well for that..

I enjoyed your song.

Hi Danny,

I love 12/8 time. We don't hear it that often any more. Having just listened to "And I Knew I Loved You", the change was very significant.

Very entertaining. You certainly have been incredibly productive with song writing. If I could write half as many, I'd be very happy!

All the best,
Noel

Hi, Noel,dear friend !

Thank you for your most kind comment !:))
If 12/8 = shuffle then okay ! I have always
loved shuffle rhytm and I am sure I had
a couple of shuffle tunes on my 92 record.
I may have been productive but I am quite
drained now when closing up to Xmas !
I think I need a litle vacation (lol) !!
Usually quantity looses out to quality so....

.....I am not sure that it is so very difficult to
come up with a tune with a program like this, to me it seems
to be much more difficult to come up with the lyrics, not being the great Hal David !!:))

A Merry Xmas to you too Noel !

Cheers
Dani

Hi, Dean !:))

Yeah, you are right !!It really is a
dancing beat !!!(lol) !
But to be honest, when I started on this I
did not have the slightest idea about
what style to choose, I only had a small
portion of the old refrain. I am glad
you liked it, old friend ! and I want
to wish you a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year
even if we should be in contact before that !:))

Cheers

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
