Hi, friends !

I did my first jazzy tune today and called it "Jazzye"
No sense in that, but let us not be bothered by that ? (lol)!!
I am not sure I could have come up with an intro like the
one Biab automated to me here ! and......

Angel Dear refers to my sweet dear late wife Beni !

http://app.box.com/s/71wojbu5w48uv8ehn99v

http://soundcloud.com/dani-lindroos/jazzye

Style: FUSN SHU STY Fusion Shuffle Slow Jazz
Soloist: Instrument 757 Piano Ac Jazzy Bebop Sw 190 (B Only)
Mixed in Mixcraft 6 on my laptop

Cheers
Dani

and here are the lyrics:

My Angel Dear (by Dani)

My angel dear, how are you now?
Please, fly down and tell me how
I wanna know how you are doin´there
in that heavenly sphere,
where you dwell my dear!

My angel dear you know I love you so
and in my dreams you feel so real, you know
I wanna hold you in my arms again
once again!

I can recall the time we had was great
reminiscing here, getting late
why don´t we just fly away just thru that gate
to the stars up above
my sweet, sweet love
let´s fly around and have some fun
it´s only a dream, only a dream !

My angel dear, how are you now?
Please, fly down and tell me how
I wanna know how you are doin´there
in that heavenly sphere,
where you dwell my dear!

Dani,

This is nicely done. The instrumentation is nice and the vocal is strong.

The vocal cold be mixed down a bit so it sits with the band a little more. It feels like the singer (you, of course) is standing about 20 feet in front of the band - instead of just in front of it.

You are a song-writing machine! So glad those Real musicians found their way to your door...

Hi Dani
I always enjoy your phrasing. It's interesting to try to anticipate it, And that's a good thing. Floyd's comments on the mix are quite realistic, and the only other thing I thought was the ending might have been a small bit abrupt, but overall, I liked it. Nice job, as usual.
Kind regards
Trevor

Hi, Trevor !:))

You are most kind to me
and you know I appreciate
your kind comments very much !:))
You are right that the tune ends
a little too abruptly. I might
add a solo and a verse still, but
am not sure yet !:))

Cheers

Hi, Guenter !

I am glad you liked this
first jazztune I´ve ever written !
I am myself more for Bacharach
and The Beach Boys, but Dean
and Barbara Dennerlein (the Hammond organist)
got me interested in jazz too !:)) (lol) !

Hi Dani...

We really, really liked this one! For a first effort in Jazz, you did a fabulous job! The backing tracks were just right and the music was perfect! Great job!

Wow. What a moving tribute and what a wonderful way to live with the memories. People we love change us in positive ways and when they leave us the changes stay and remind us of the good. Thank you for sharing.

Hi, Al & Di !:))

Thank you so much for your kind comments !:))
I am not really a jazz singer though Aleck
has tried to teach me ! Should be sung
without any vibrato and though I´m trying,
it seems almost impossible ! (lol) !
Jazz must be the most difficult genré there is ?
no stright chords and a lot of them too.
As I do not know them but have to listen them out
it is a tedious process !:))

Cheers

Hi, Tommy !:))

I am humbled by your kind words !
Jazz is not really my genré as
the more chords, the better !:))
Having to listen them out makes
it a somewhat slow but intriguing
process ?

Cheers

Dani, Jazz is much easier than you think. The easiest way to master Jazz is to just take the rule book... and throw it away (ha ha) laugh

After reading Janice's and Bud's words, I could not let them pass without quoting them. They resonate so much with me.

Take care,
Noel

P.S. Congratulations on your award, too! It's very well earned!

Hi, Noel ! :))

You are too kind my good friend, but
I am flattered by your warm words !:))
....and thank you for your congratulations too,
I am not sure I deserved the prize
but as it is I am now able to donate the prize
to another good friend from Australia who started it all
for me !:)) Btw.. where did you learn finnish, or did
you use google translator ? (lol) ! I´ve used it
many times for my spanish lessons ,but longer
phrases seldom works well with the translator,
it is good for 2-3 words !:))

Cheers
Dani

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
