A little tune about all the "Mr. KnowItAlls" out there. (With a tip of the hat to Mr. Prine). grin

Thank God For Google

©2014 Robert Randall Burke/BMI

When I flunked out of High School
They told me I was just a fool
I could fill a book with all the things I didn't know
Never got a decent job
Always just a workin' slob
And everybody told me I was slow.

Thank God for Google
It's tripled my I.Q.
Thank God for Google
Now I'm smarter than you
Now I am an expert
On things I never knew
Google told me so I know it's true.

Aztec anthropology
Throw in some Greek mythology
I can now expound on subjects most arcane
All of ancient history
Is just a piece of cake for me
Now everyone just marvels at my brain.

Glad to weigh in early on this! Yeah, man, ain't a little learning a dangerous thing! Google and Wiki has certainly upped the "expert" quotient. Great choice of RTs and mix, great vocal, fun and clever lyrics -- it's ALL there. That's a nice clean crispy acoustic arrangement also. (And FWIW these observations come from a guy who hauled a bass fiddle around 30 years staring at the backside of bluegrass bands)

This is fantastic!

I don’t know how you came up with these lyrics but they are super.

I went line dancing last night. Well it was a roadside sobriety test, same thing.

Hi Bob,

What a FUN song! I really like it.

Now all you need to do is take your laptop, check into a Holiday Inn Express, crank up Google, and write your next song! smile

Glad to see you back!

Steve

Bob,

That is just brilliant!!!!

You're trademark creativity is at full sail with this song. I love the quirkiness of the subject matter and the way you've put these lyrics together. My favourite rhyme is 'history / cake for me' - being able to come up with something like that is what I call TALENT!

I thoroughly enjoyed "Thank God For Google".

All the best,
Noel
