Idols The quarterly review over on Kara-Moon.com for this quarter is write s song about who/what first inspired you to play your instrument. Here is what I wrote: “It’s a good thing you said “a song about….” Otherwise I would have just put up pictures of pretty girls! I noticed that local guitar players were getting dates with pretty girls so that was the main reason I took up guitar in the first place! It did work as I married the prettiest girl of all! Anyway picking an artist whom first inspired me is an impossible task for me. There were so many of them. Duane Eddy, The Ventures, The Shadows, all of the old blues and jazz guys, well I could go on and on. I’ll just let you guess who these guys are.” ------------------------------------------------- I used the Johnny B.Goode style for this, which kind of kills the guessing game doesn’t it. I deleted every thing except the drums and parts of the piano track. The drums were slightly modified to better fit the song. The rhythm piano part is from the above stated style but was slightly modified. The piano lead is from the SuperMidiTrack 1810-piano-rhythm-honkytonkjohn-EV120. I am playing the bass and guitar parts. I hope you like it.
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Mario, that sound takes me back. I sho Nuff played those licks myself. I liked the unison guitar and bass part in the middle, and the descending bass line was excellent. Good job. Tom

Mario, yep, like the others said, great job. Blues like that just never seem to fade. Glad each of the Muso's managed to get a chance to show off their talent here and there.

Hey Mario...
I think something's a little screwy on my computer. When I click onto your song title, it takes me to my pictures folder on my computer! I'll try to figure out what the heck is going on and get back to this!

Thanx everyone for listening. I appreciate your comments also.
Tommyad, if I had a dollar for every time I played ‘Johnny B. Goode’ I just might be a millionaire by now!
Alan – now that is weird! Have you been able to get to some of my other music?
Janice & Bud, Videotrack and Mike thanx for the very kind comments.

Hi Mario,
this one really takes you back in time. Good job on bass and guitar. That piano is a good choice.

Mario,
A fun listen! Good guitar and bass work. The piano is worked in well - and good all around mix. Now...if we could just get you singing along...
I like the leathery snare sound you have on it...where are your drum sounds from?
Enjoyed it!

Alan @Al, if you don't have an app designated to automatically play MP3s on the web, it may be prompting you to save the mp3 to your computer. That's what happened when I clicked on the link... @Mario! fun little song and well executed! You certainly got my foot moving! I liked the part where the guitar and bass mirrored the same lick...

Thanx all for listening. I truly appreciate your very kind comments. Floyd – I’ve been using Stephen Slate Drums for quite a while now. I recently picked up his SSD 4 Platinum, http://www.stevenslatedrums.com/products/platinum/I got it on sale for $100 around Christmas time. It has 100 different kits plus you can assemble your own kits. I used the stock preset Slate Rock 1 kit for this song.

At least we tried several times. if there's another link, we'd be happy to take a listen. Your music is always so danged good.
Wishing you the very best...
Al & Di

Cool man, cool! Really enjoyed it.
The Ventures. My folks had the Ventures Live album and I wore that thing out on the console stereo. I can still picture the album cover.
