One advantage of Real Band that I just discovered is this:

Since each track can be generated individually (as opposed to regenerating everything at the same time in BIAB) you can make subtle changes to the chords for each instrument. For example, if you want one background instrument to play a very basic unembellished chord set, just remove all but the most essential chords when generating that instrument's track. For instruments where you want more decorative or interesting transitions, add transitional chords before generating that instrument's track.

To my ears, this approach makes a song sound more like real musicians playing the song with slight variations in embellishment.

In fact, this leads to a wish list idea: multiple chord sheets for each project, with the ability to assign each instrument to its own chord sheet. (or, alternatively, one chord sheet with variations, and the ability to assign instrument A to use the chords in cells 1 to 32 while instrument 2 uses the chords in cell range 36-68 etc)

By having the ability to preserve the special chords for each instrument in one project, you would be better able to return to the project and regenerate it later without having to remember which chords were used for which part.
