Hi, friends !

You would not believe it, but
Spring is really in the air up here
in the cold North !!!!:))
This made me dust off a song
I wrote back in 1992 and sang
on the record of that same year !:))

The original lyrics are in Swedish
so the english lyrics will not rhyme !

http://app.box.com/s/1fws75bfkkifzob7g5lj

As a curiosity I add the original track from
the record (me singing and playing my ovation)

http://app.box.com/s/63hqpz8kv3m1137b8tev

The BIAB version is recorded and mixed in Mixcraft 6
with the following instruments:

Bass 366 El Bass Country
Drums Nashville even 16 1 Sidestick Ride
Guitar 896 12 St AC rhytm Folk rock
Strings 363 Pedal Steel Background Ev 085
Soloist 51 Synth Strings 1

Solos on both tracks played by Dani on Ovation AC Guitar

Lyrics (English Free Translation)

SPRING HAS COME AGAIN (Våren är kommen åter by Dani)

Soon there´ll be spring
you can feel it arriving
with warm winds so gentle
caressing your chin, and your skin!
Winter is on the run when
every day grows brighter and longer again
birds in the sky returning
scream out their joy,
their long trip is nearing it´s end
Icefloes adrift
melt away on the ocean
and defrosted water
flows freely as rills, what a thrill!

Winter is on the run when
every day grows brighter and longer again
watch how the well with water
gushes itself along thru the thawening mire

solo

Nights getting brighter
and deepfrozen souls there
awakening again
to the simmering life, what a life!

Give me a time like springtime
dripping from roofs and snow crust and sunshine above
Give me a time like springtime
that is the time I want to live forever ,I will
Oh yes I will !!!!

Very nice job ... we need more spring. I like the mix and the pedal steel guitars add a nice flow.

Hi Dani,

Very nice music smile The fact that the lyrics didn't rhyme was not an issue. The song still worked for me. I'll have to sit down and ponder what it was about the composition that made it work like that. It's very clever.

For the record, though, it's not spring down here in Australia, March 1 sees us begin Autumn.

All the best,
Noel

Enjoyed that one Dani! There are spring signs everywhere outside our home and we love it. Thanks for this song that so well expresses our feelings about the season. A fine production in all aspects.

You sing with such an easy relaxed voice, very smooth. A pleasing song with interesting RT's and progressions.

Dani,

yup we can tell it's spring here as the rain is getting warmer. grin

I like both versions BUT I REALLY REALLY like the original with just you and your Ovation. Your translation adds to the enjoyment as I can also understand what you are singing about.

I'd love to hear more songs with just you and your guitar if that is an example.

Dani, You always surprise me. Of course it's me again trying to guess and being surprised by your chord progressions. But this time you added a new twist. Steel guitar and your solo. Good job. The changing of the seasons is the one thing I am beginning to miss after being in Florida for so long. Here we have 2 seasons-Hurricane season and Tourist season. Nice vocal on this also. I enjoyed it. Tom

Hi Dani,

that's a nice welcome to spring.
I'm glad you posted the original, too, because this is
my favourite. I don't know why. Maybe it's because
you sang it a fourth higher, or is it the language that suits you so nicely, or you didn't use as much vibrato in your voice as today, or is it the the simple arrangement with just guitars and your voice.
The new version is ok, but the original is super.

Plus one for this comment. Dani, it is so interesting how different your voice sounds in Swedish. I enjoyed both versions though. That is nice guitar playing.

Hi Dani
Good to hear both versions. IS it really more than 20 years between the two? Wow!
Oddly enough, and no detriment to BB, the solo voice and acoustic guitar is the better - even if I can't understand a single word! lol
But to concentrate on the BB version for a moment - this is a well chosen set of RTs and the pedal steel works very well I thought.
LOvely
cheers
ian

Hi, Noel !:))

Thank you for your kind comments !
Yes, I often wonder how you perceive
all the seasons down there ?
Normally our seasons are quite clearly
distinct but lately nothing in the
weather or the seasons have been normal !!!!:))

Have a most nice Autumn, Noel !!!

Hi, Floyd !

You are most kind as always !:)
Singing in Swedish may have
more in common with German than
English (I am not sure about that
statement) ! In any case the
Swedish language is a German
language !! I agree with you,
rhymin is not a self purpose !!
(or how you would express that
in english) !!:))

Cheers

Hi, Janice & Bud !

You are all too kind
but I really do appreciate
your warm words. At this
time we should normally have
the coldest period and deepest
winter, so you can understand
that we are awed at seeing
migrating birds returning !!!!!!:))

Cheers
Dani

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
