Companion piece to 'The Boat and the Bush'. Dad worked in the pine forest as a bulldozer driver. Discing firebreaks and forming logging tracks. His dad was a fisherman and so was he. He only just made ends meet with a large family but was apprehensive about leaving the security of steady work in the milltown for the gamble of long lining from a small boat. A neighbor brought this old hull but soon lost interest in it. Dad brought it for a few dollars. We worked on it for 2 or 3 years. Steaming ribs, punching in thousands of copper rivets, using old telephone poles for keel and beltings, caulking, sanding painting and scraping. Anyway, when the 'Cosma' was trucked to the coast the old man did real well and never looked back. This was about 1950. With photos. Sorry some are not very clear. http://youtu.be/ZYQ8IrCZAroand on SoundCloud https://soundcloud.com/tuigorge/boat-in-our-backyardKept it simple RD - Nashville swing Bass - RT539 plus sampletank Fatbass Guitar - RT974, Western swing ( I love this realtrack ) Hope you enjoy - Comments and sugestions most welcome. Cheers.

Really enjoyed this. (We have 4 boats in our back yard)
The Cosma really turned out fine. She's a beauty!
Makes me think I have to get to work on my old man's boat that's in our back yard - an old Drascombe Lugger. She needs a mainmast, mizzenmast, sails......
Thanks for posting that.
Regards,
Bob

Wow! That is a very cool production. I wish my memory was as rich and nuanced as yours and that if it was I could write imagery like that. I just like everything about this.

Thanks Bob ( 4 boats! ). That lugger sounds fascinating. I think boats are like wives. They require a huge commitment but are absolutely wonderful. 'Cosma' kept working for about 20 years.
DA thanks for that wonderful comment. ( i'm a bit bass crazy )
Janice and Bud. Thanks for the support and super comment!
I'm so glad you enjoyed this one Floyd ( and Dad's old photos )
Thanks Guenter - I get so many forgotten memories floating up these days. Glad you enjoyed it.
Hi Dani. Thanks for the listen and enjoying it. Thanks also for doing my request. Great! Keen to hear it.
Thanks to all for making my day. Cheers.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
