Hi, Alyn !:))

Thank you so much for your
most kind words !:))
It may be easier
to sing about friendship than
to execute it ? :))

Cheers

Dani, I love Bud's Emerson quote. I also think Dean said it best. We can all use some more friendship. Thanks for posting this meaningful song. Tom

Dani,

A terrific idea for a song! You can really write uplifting stuff...

On this one, I think you got a little too funky. The vocal and harmonies are cool - they have a 5th Dimension quality to them. The instrumentation is competing with them and getting in the way at times. Remember how the 5th Dimension used to let the vocals be "the star"... there would be drums (and percussion) and bass and something flowy and smooth (typically strings) underneath and the vocals and harmonies did the rest.... I think your vocal and harmonies on this were strong enough to carry it like that. Just a suggestion - but I think that style production would work great for the things you do with those beautiful lush vocal arrangements you do....

Hi, Floyd !:))

Thank you so much for your kind and constructive
reply !:))

The idea really came from RichMac ! (lol) !
You are all too kind with me in your
evaluation. You are perfectly right that
the mix could have been much better. Part
of the problem was that I wanted to have
the synth in the background and that it
adds to the overpowering backing sound as
the style in itself was very funky indeed ! (lol) !:))
You are way too kind regarding the vocals
too hiding my shortcomings in the overall
buzzy sound ! :)) 5 th dimension ! That superb
vocal group has been and still is one of my
all time vocal group favorites ! ( Singers
Unlimited and 4 Freshmen are some other of
my favorites) :))

...and Floyd, my friend, I did make a version without the pad ! (lol):))

Cheers
Dani

I'm starting to think of you as our resident Crooner, so sweet and mellow:) You bent a few chords in this and the modulations had me thinking about barbershop. Do you sing lead? I belonged to a barbershop choir for a time, in Winchester, VA - it was a lot of fun.

I always enjoy your songs Dani!

Hi, Scott !:))

You are all too nice, but I do
appreciate your most kind comments
really very much !:))

You asked if I sing barbershop
lead ? Unfortunately my range is
on the edges i.e. I can sing
bass (which is my natural voice range)
and tenor (falsetto) !:))

Hey, I just love to sing barbershop
especially all those juicy tags (chuckle) !!:))
You do not miss ém, do you ?

Here is one of those easier ones:
"In Dixieland where I was born":))

How nice to be able to sing tags with
any barbershopper all around the world ?

Cheers
Dani

Hi friend! I'm never been too good at writing anything, never mind a song, so I really appreciate what you do, so I have to say +10 to what Dean had to say about you and your song.

Mike B.

Hi, Mike !:))

Now my dear friend, I think you are
much too kind with me and I feel humbled
by your warm words ! I do not see myself as
a songwriter, writing these short pieces
is only therapy for me, a sort of a nice
hobby as I presume it is for you too ?

You, on the other hand, I have listened to your
eminent tunes and you may say whatever but IMO
you are a very good songwriter with a very
good sense and feeling for rhytm, chords and melody !
Being Cuban as you say you are, might be the reason
you just have all that stuff within you ? :))

Cheers
Dani
