BIAB 2013 was announced on 3/06 . . . maybe it's taking a little extra time to put all those great new features in there to finally bring it to full parity with the Windows version? Finally? grin

It does feel like an excessively long wait.

This is the first release, since starting on 2011, that I have actually been waiting for. My previous upgrades have been "Oh, what the heck!" afterthoughts. Now it's serious!

CT, I'm not surprised they are working on 2014.5, but I am highly disappointed in the progress (if any) of the OSX version. :-(
Come on PGM...show some love to your loyal Mac users!

This wait is insupportable.
They could allow us to download the new realtracks.

I heard a rumor that when it is finally released it will come with a complementary case of fine Canadian microbrews. Now THAT's worth waiting for! grin

(Okay, I admit it . . . I'm the one who started the rumor. It's worth a shot.)

I was about to buy Band-in-a-Box for Mac when the Windows 2014 version came out.
So I decided to wait for the new version ... and wait ... and wait ...

I would be happy with the 2013 version for now, but I don't want to have to pay a $70 (or whatever) upgrade fee within a couple of months of purchasing the software. I would buy today if they would offer a free upgrade to 2014 whenever it comes out.

Unfortunately I was told by the sales team that they can only offer a free upgrade within 30 days of purchase. Bummer. It sure seems unlikely that the new release will be within 30 days?

It would be really nice to hear any kind of news on the progress, expected features. Anything!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
