I have no problem selecting styles in BIAB it works great.

But in Realband:
The first time I access to "stylepicker" it works. It loads a style but then if I'm not happy and I want to change the style:
1. if I use the options "File open-style..." or "Band styles (Best Realtracks)" it works well
2. if I click again on stylepicker it gets stuck. It doesn't open the styles window and the CPU usage says it is around 100% and I finally have to quit Realband.

I've got BIAB and Realband 2014 vs 7 UltraPlusPack installed in C:\ but Realtracks and Realdrums in an external hard drive.

I've got Windows 7 64 bits, 6 Gb memory.

Thank you for any help.

Makes me wonder if the style picker window is stuck behind the main window. That sometimes happens, and makes it look like RealBand is locked up. Try pressing Alt-Tab to see if you can get to it. Sometimes, minimizing RealBand in the task bar, and the maximizing it again brings the Style Picker window to the forefront.

Thank you John for your interest but that's not the case.
Anyway I've seen that after some time working with Realband it gets stuck as well.
I don't know what Realband is doing to use 100% CPU because I also work with other programs like Cubase 5, Sibelius or Garritan Personal Orchestra and I don't have any problem.
So I think that I'll continue using Cubase instead of Realband.

Hi F.J.
Perhaps before abandoning RealBand, you could contact PG Music support. I heard they're pretty good, and usually offer very positive assistance.

Yes I'm in contact with PG support team but up to now they don't know why.
Do you have Realband 2014 versión 7?
If so, did you upgrade from an older versión or it is the first RB installation?
In my case it's the first installation not an upgrade.

Can you rename the Realband folder on C:\Realband_old and copy the one from the hard drive to C:\ then copy TicketsActivated folder from C:\Realband_old to C:\Realband then try it ? you will have the old version exe but if it works you can update it to (7).

I'm not sure if I'm understanding what you mean.
I bought the downloadable version not the harddrive pre-installed versión and I don't have any older versión.

Sorry thought you had the hard drive version with Realtracks and Realdrums in an external hard drive.

Ok try this:
1: rename the Realband folder on C:\Realband_old
2: make a backup copy of C:\BB so you have C:\BB & C:\BB_backup
3: run the downloaded BB2014UltraPlusPack.exe installer
4: then copy TicketsActivated folder from C:\Realband_old to C:\Realband then try it.

You will have the old version of Realband.exe but if it works you can update it to (7).

So the new BB folder you can rename it BB_old then rename BB_backup back to BB so that has not been change.
When things are working good it is always good to make a backup of both folders.

*Make sure you click"Rebuild" in the style picker.

There's something I don't understand: if I run the downloaded BB2014 installer again I will get the same BBW & Realband versions I've already got:
Realband 2014 vs 7 that is what that installer installs. Not an older versión.
Even the Tickectsactivated folder (that I don't know what it is) will be the same.
What am I missing?
There must be something that I'm no capable of seeing in your explanation.

Thanks anyway.

Sorry did not realize you had the latest version installer.
I purchase mine at xmas time so have updated from 1,2,3,4,5,6 to 7.
I'm not sure if you just purchased it, installed it and have this problem or if it has just started recently giving this problem ?

Well I still don't beleive it but it seems it works now.
What I did:
1. I made a copy of RB folder and named it Realband_old
2. I updated Realband with an update dated January 2013 that I found on the Internet.
3. I tried and the problem was still there
4. so I deleted Realband
5. Changed again the name Realband_old ->Realband
6. I tried and the problem was still there.
7. Turned off and on the PC and it works. It seems to be solved.

Thank you anyway for trying to help.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
