Thanks to Josie who was listening to my tracks over at Reverbnation, she reminded me of a total BIAB tune that I did which is a remix of an acoustic tune I do live. I wrote the song just because. People kept saying my tunes were dark so I figured I'd lighten it up and wrote "Big Wad o Gum"

388 Bass Electric Metal
629 Guitar Electric Rhythm PopAmericanDirty
RealDrums=NashvilleEven8^6
632 Guitar, Electric Rhythm PopAmericanMuted
406 Guitar Acoustic, Strumming
422 Guitar, Electric Soloist, Blues

Again, I sliced up the Soloist Blues Track to create a solo better suited to the feel of the tune (more space and dynamics) Created a few new chops as well smile

Enjoy!

I guess one can find inspiration for a song in anything.....

funny song and a reminder to dispose of your gum properly, and that doesn't mean spitting it out in a parking lot on a hot day.

Musically, the vocals sound really good. The tempo seems a bit too fast for the guitar solo style that you used.

Slow it down, change the style to blues and sing about that nasty wad stuck to your foot.....

Funny write!

A good vocal and good overall mix with a bunch of good solo licks throughout.

Mike, a big wad of "that was really good" from me!

Funny and clever. Good job on the splicing. I know how tedious that it is. Often takes me parts of 12-15 regens to get it "right."

The vocal really works and is well featured on the tune. I can hear it wafting through the air in a Wally Mart parking lot. smile

Hi Greg! Interesting story: One time after a gig, while breaking down, a gentleman came up to me and began to praise "Big Wad O Gum" as a profound, deep song, and how it meant so much to him. He was serious as well. He was talking about symbolism and more. Not dark, but, definitely something more than what I intended. ;-)

Appreciate the thoughts!

Sounds like something Talking Heads would do and even the vocals are in a similar style. I enjoyed that.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
