Dear Forum Friends, Has anyone ever called you “so serious”? I used to hear it all the time. It was like fingernails on the chalkboard to me. I guess I’m still pretty serious but I do let loose for just a little while as the song suggests. This past winter I upgraded to the BIAB UltraPack and got some great Dixieland RealTracks. How can you not smile listening to that kind of music? So enjoy and find your inner-child. Here are the wonderful RT (thanks PG). http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=12925267&q=hi&newref=1(I'll post to soundcloud soon) RealTracks in song: 1618:Tuba, DixielandFast Sw 165 RealTracks in song: 1551:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm MemphisSwing Sw 190 RealTracks in song: 524:Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Ev 165 RealTracks in song: 1611:Banjo, Tenor, Rhythm DixielandFastSimple Sw 165 RealTracks in song: 1621:Clarinet, Soloist DixielandFastA-B Sw 165 RealDrums in Song: Dixieland^1-a:Trad LH Drag, b:Trad Ride SpaceDog

Hi!
It's been a while since we heard this genre. What a nice refresher! We're still smiling! Your vocal is terrific on this. Also loved the message in the lyric. I'm (Alan) serious enough to take carer of my responsibilities. After that ... I just try to have fun.
A fun and and entertaining listen. Thanks!
Alan & Di
PS: loved the background laughing near the end!

Fun listen! We'v had a blast playing around with those RT's.
You put them to good use supporting the vocal. Wrapped it up in a nice mix also.

Hi SD,
a fun listen. Like all those little trifles you worked into your mix. I'm sure it was also fun making it.

Charlie, Thanks. Glad you liked it.
Al & Di, Thanks. This is my second song in the Dixieland genre. It's so much fun.
J&B, Thanks. The RTs are so much better than the equivalent midi patches.
Guenter, Thanks. The sound effects were really fun.
Greg, Glad you liked it.

Josie, Thanks for your comments. I took the Berklee Music Production course a while back and learned a lot. I guess it's helping. Take care. SD

Hi SD,
Very nice angle for a song, very enjoyable by the way. About the 'serious' part.... we both have been called "too serious" back in our days, but we've loosened up for many years now! Song is very well done.
Regards, R & AM

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
