Although I didn't understand one word I really enjoyed the song! I thought that the song mix was very professional sounding.

To be honest I was a little confused about the video. Maybe that was because I don't know the language. Anyway I didn't get the baby part of it.

Great song!

Mario and Pat – thanks for listening and watching!

I'll try to translate the norwegian lyrics to english later on – meanwhile, here's some info about this project:

Got a challenge a couple of weeks ago – make a song and music video that will catch the attention of youths that want to be professional truck or bus drivers.

OK, then what…
Well, truck and bus drivers in my country listen to country music, kids likes metal or modern machine music…

So, I ended up with this country-metal-arpeggiated tune:

StorBil / Big Cars

Again, with great help from BiaB – I just love this software! Thanks to everyone at PG Music!

Tracks used:
RealTracks in style: ~520:Bass, Electric, Pop HalfNotes Ev 165
RealTracks in style: ~690:Organ, B3, Background Pop Ev 165
RealTracks in style: 1682:Guitar, 12-String Acoustic, Fingerpicking Ev 165
RealTracks in style: ~524:Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Ev 165
RealDrums: RealDrums in Style: NashvilleOutlaw^10-a:Snare, HiHat , b:Snare, Ride

…and for the next weeks, it's time for the second part of the challenge; trying to make a catchy music video.
Is there a ViaB-program anywhere? (Video-in-a-Box) Peter or anyone? ;-)

Hei broder !

Mitt norske hjaerta slår for
din musikk ! :)) Som du vet
är jag norsk på mödernesidan
och Norge (det vackraste landet
i världen) appellerar häftigt
på mig, spesiellt fjaellen
och de underbara vattenfallen !:))
(förutom Gudsbrandsdalsost och
kransekake naturligtvis) !!
Din video är helt enkelt fantastisk,
det borde kunna locka nya elever
att bli yrkesförare vilket på
vägarna i ditt land nog kräver mera
än en hel del !!!!!

Tack för den härliga videon
vilken gjorde mig heldig
och .......

Lycka till !!!!

Cheers
Your halfnorwegian brother

very impressive project! I look forward to hearing more from you!

And I totally agree that PGMusic products really provide the tools for musically creative people to actualize their ideas into solid projects without getting bogged down by the technology. (which is what happened to me with every other DAW I tried before BIAB/RB)

Great fun and excellent use of BIAB! A pretty pro video also. I watched all the way through even though I had no idea what was being sung!

Anyway, I like Norwegians because they send us an enormous Christmas tree every year for Trafalgar Square!

Totally agree with what Pat says -- Looks like this was a fun project and I hope it helps inspire the youth as intended.

Hi Molsenhouse,

I already commented about the music. You might not have read it, at least you didn't answer it.
So here is the video at last. It's great. Must have been a lot of work to get all these people under one roof.
Impressive.

Thanks a lot for nice words, Dani (goda skandinaviska broder:) John, Charlie, Floyd and Guenter.

Sorry Guenter for not responding on your earlier comment – haven't been on the PG sites for weeks making this video. Glad you liked it!

And Pat and Mario…

…with a little help from a friend (GoogleTranselate) here comes a technical, not a poetical translation:

Big Trucks

If you’re going to learn to drive big trucks; COME TO US!
Be safe on the narrow road from Sauda to Voss
Fill up a large truck
To run it many hundreds of miles

We will teach you to drive big trucks; HEAVY TRANSPORT!
We will teach you to drive big trucks; HEAVY TRANSPORT!

Dangerous goods, oil-related shipping
In traffic you need to learn and be alert
If you come from a part of Rogaland
With your own moving loads to Sauda

(Well, then ...)
We shall teach you to drive big trucks; HEAVY TRANSPORT! (and a little LOGISTICS)
We shall teach you to drive big trucks; PASSENGER! (and PASSENGER TRAFFIC)

Living in a bedsit away from mother
Be well-known inside the Sauda Fjord

(But tell me;)
Have you finished VG1?
And will try to stand on "your own feet"?
Then you should apply to join VG2
Proceed to VG3 and become a real professional driver

We shall teach you to drive big trucks; HEAVY TRANSPORT! (and a little LOGISTICS)
We shall teach you to drive the bus; PASSENGERS! (and PASSENGERS TRAFFIC)
You shall learn to drive big trucks; HEAVY TRANSPORT! (and LOGISTICS, yes LOGISTICS)
You shall learn to drive the bus; PASSENGERS! (PASSENGER TRAFFICS with eagle eyes)

Logistics and trucks – driving several thousand miles
Sleeping time and old food – filling fuel and packing goods
Moving into bedsits - mope a little, playing the blues
Gear down and then accelerate - brake a little to make room
La-la-la-la-la-la ...
La-la-la-la-la-la ...

Hi Molsenhouse,

A very nice production indeed. The song also sounds quite well.
As for your question about video programms: we use
a) Power Director and
b) Serif MoviePlus (which is very simple and cheap).
It has less effects, but a much better "zoom function" than Power
Director, which has many more possibilities and effects.

As with your other productions I remember, very well done!! Really pro sound-big, clear, and in your face. I wish I understood the lyrics, but this is really well put together. Cool stuff! Take care. Greg

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks

MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:

There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:

1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track

Review - Band-in-a-Box® 2023 for Windows is Overflowing with Features!

Dennis posted his very thorough Band-in-a-Box® review recently, where he dives into some of the new features added with version 2023: Sound-Guy's Band-in-a-Box Review

Read his thoughts on the Download & Install Manager, partial track regeneration, Playable RealTracks, Audio Editing, the addition of SynthMaster, the VST DAW Plugin, and more!

"Band-in-a-Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is, without negative connotation, a monster of a program. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. No DAW can do some of the things BIAB does, while BIAB can do a lot that DAWs do."
